Spurs need to spend another £124,700,001 to be able to compete for trophies. Half a billion = trophies. What you could do is let Harry Kane go for free and then buy him back for £124,700,001 in a year or so. Then you will be over the magical half a billion mark. It is what we did with Pogba to take us over the half a billion mark and BOOM won the treble under Mourinho straight away.

Or get the board to back the manager, like 2 faced Jurgen when Liverpool board backed him?

And therein lies the value of financial power, and why football doesn't change a great deal over the years.

Highlights would be:

- Leeds doing really well, though early days of course.

- Pep needs to deliver more league titles and/or a CL soon, otherwise I think he's tipping into the flop category.

- United's outlay has been embarrassing considering how poor we have been. Hopefully that changes over the next couple of years.

- Burnley. Facking hell, what an achievement that is from Dyche.

Just take my hats off to Dyche

How does he keep them up and even be in mid-table and they are a formidable side to face.

But did these clubs have to sell to reinvest ?

Consider Klopp and Pep. The former had to sell his best player in order to break the bank for Van Dijk.

Imagine asking Pep to sell KDB before he reinvested.

Looking at that table, the higher up you go probably the easier it is to manage as one has the best and most expensive resources to manage!

Depends what you’re judging.

I don’t think anyone would dispute that Klopp has done a great job in the transfer market generally, but what this shows now is that the squad value ilia at a level where you’d expect Liverpool to compete.

Wages will also be a factor of course.

You don't get league points for warning the money and not spending it though. How many windows did potch go without a big signing despite a clear final and constant top 4?

Seeing Liverpool over take spurs after the coutinho funds were invested is what annoys lots of spurs fans cos the club could easily have spent some money to take the final step.

It isn't guaranteed success would've followed but it would've made more of a difference on the pitch than a positive balance sheet did.
