Cant work out if Poggy's recent good form is because the transfer window was looming and is now open again and he wants to showcase himself (yet again) .. or he wants to counter his agent's recent media messages about his imminent future at United, as he can do best, which is on the pitch.
Moreover, when he's is good he is very good (when he's crap/lazy he is very crap/lazy) and I cant work out if he is a cuuurntt of a player or that I (and many other United supporters) may have got him completely wrong.

He's a hugely talented player. But his net contribution to the team relative to his talent is among the worst of all our current players (rivalled only by Martial). The longer I watch him, the more I come to suspect that it's not really Pogba's fault. His particular skill set and his fundamental characteristics as a footballer need specific conditions to thrive. You could build a team around him. But I think his ideal playing milieu would be a different footballing culture or even a different era. In a game that was a bit more deliberative, less dependent on efficiently executing well rehearsed, rapid transitions, based more around artistry, he'd be one of the biggest stars. You could see him very much more at home ambling around in the Brazil 1970 squad than in the Premier League.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting angle.
I think most of us would agree that even a different league would suit Pogba much better than the prem.

Best two-way player in pro football atm.
Always amusing when people bash him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Two-way player... Amazing how much American sports lingo is making it's way into football...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What exactly is a “ two-way player”?
Let's be honest we have hardly been the most consistent team or the most consistent club since Pogba has been here. Before Ole came in, he's had to play with some complete dross. The "dead wood" that people talk about has only just been exchanged for some decent quality.. so if they don't finish their chances, his contributions are easily forgotten..
His best position is AM or in the hole where he's breaking up play higher up the pitch, making runs at the defence, playing 1-touch football, and creating chances for other people (especially against low blocks).
He's been in an out of form just like any player in the team. All of our players have had bad spells but Pogba is the only player that gets stick for it..
Most of his time here at the club he's not played in his best position so he is of course going to be inconsistent. If we played Bruno as deep as we play Pogba, he wouldn't be able to affect the game in the way he does. If we plaid Mata as deep as Pogba, he would be inconsistent, if we plaid AWB as a CB he would be inconsistent. Just because Pogba is tall and stocky, doesn't mean he is supposed to be grafting like a Keane or Viera, he is more of a technician, like Ozil, Mata, Silva, KDB, and his talents (clearly) are not suited to playing so deep.
The only reason we play him there is because (as someone stated above) he's the best we can play there because of his ability to pick a pass, protect the ball and thread it to the attackers. When he's not playing there, our midfielders just pass it sideways. He's the only one that can produce magic from that deep but he's really a 10 or at a push an 8.
Look at the Burnley game, when he was moved further forward, he was able to impact the game a lot more because he was getting into dangerous positions. Yes, he can create from deep, but that's because of his footballing brain, not because it's his best position.
That's why the most intelligent players can play longer in their careers by changing position when there body starts to slow down i.e. Giggs, scholes etc, but naturally they will be inconsistent.
. The closest comparison I can think of is KDB but I think Pogba offers more on his day.

Just a quick look over the last 4 or 5 years pogba averages about a 1.2 key passes per game,

The consistency element is afforded to him because he plays in a team that's drilled to know where everyone is going to be at any give time. He's also playing with top quality team mates. Pogba on the other hand has had to play with people like Ashley young, Peirera, Lingard, Lukaku etc and does not play in a system. We tend to change players positions, tactics, and lineups on a game by game basis. And as I have mentioned a few times, Pogba does not play in his best position most games.

I'm not sure it's as simple as that. Pogba isn't a natural number 10 and hasn't had anything like the effect of Fernandes the times he's played in that position. He can pick a sublime pass but he doesn't have that alertness of mind that Fernandes has, nor would he be the player you'd select to lead the press. As many have pointed out, the left side of a midfield 3 in a 4-3-3 seems have brought the most consistent performances out of him.
