Passing the ball and linking up play should be basic tenets of a striker. Auba does neither well.

Yea and? Can’t keep using that to bash him. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks and all. Up to Arteta to make most of his strengths, which btw are very difficult to find in players.

Typical Auba defence. He can't hold the ball up. He can't pass. He doesn't tackle
Unless he is played 1 on 1 he is useless
---
He doesn't help himself sometimes but really if you don't play to your players strengths what do you expect. What made Aubameyang so successful Dortmund it was the fact that they got the ball forward quickly we do the absolute opposite we take an age to get the ball forward. Half the time has to come short and get the ball that's not his game. If you had Messi in your team you wouldn't be slinging in cross after cross.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just face it he's not that good. He's not even abe to control the ball when it comes to him if just one defender is near him, not even able to draw foul, defenders just pinch it easily. Thats not good enough if you're not scoring he has to affect the game in other ways.

Arteta isn’t evolving from last season. This season was suppose to be one where improvements were shown, yet nothing has improved on the field.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arteta has immensely improved things at the back.
We've only conceded an average of 1 goal per game this season. The last time we showed such defensive strength ended with us in 2nd place in the league.
Just need to find our shooting boots again and we'll be back in business.

I’ve had enough of Arteta now tbh. This is the game that does it for me. That performance was an acceptance of defeat. No matter that opposition or gulf in class Arsenal should never accept defeat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's actually getting creepy now mate, again exact same thoughts crossed my mind from the start, Arteta sent them out there with a defeatist mentality and also got his selection AND subs wrong AGAIN.
1 neil down and waits until the 85th minute to take Mo off, that change needed to happen at half time or latest 60 mins to have any impact on the result.
Today my technical indicator flipped to bearish on Arteta too, he's not learning fast enough.
Just face it he's not that good. He's not even abe to control the ball when it comes to him if just one defender is near him, not even able to draw foul, defenders just pinch it easily. Thats not good enough if you're not scoring he has to affect the game in other ways

If we are going to replace him who do we get that is going provide the goals that he has provided since he joined. Let's face it we are not an attractive proposition to the top players right now let alone these tight owners actually spending the money to buy what we need. What would be better is if the team actually functioned in a way that got the best out of Aubameyang quite clearly its not.
If he was missing three or four chances a game then it would be fair to assume alternatives should be considered.
Arsenal team: Leno, Bellerin, Luiz, Gabriel, Tierney, Ceballos, Xhaka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang, Saka.
Subs: Ryan, Hein, Lacazette, Willian, Cedric, Partey, Pepe, Chambers, Mari, Elneny, Nketiah, Martinelli.
Why did Arsenal release the team early?
Teams are submitted 90 minutes before kick off in Europe I believe.
Darwin Nunez on the bench.
TONIGHT WE EAT GOOD
Sensible line up, should have enough to win it in normal time but options off the bench.
Hopefully we can give Partey a leisurely 30 mins to get upto speed rather than having to bring him on at HT and ask him to change the game

Better team selection tbh. Mostly the Leeds selection going forward. But it kinda shows that Arteta doesn't know his best team which is concerning.
I do worry about the amount of game time Saka is getting.
I know he's our best player right now, but it's a lot of strain to put on him. That said he does seem to be built differently, physically and mentally.

This is all we have to play for. Would have started Partey and Pepe
Swear every week lots of fans are saying we should rest Z player, see it on Twitter and stuff as well. If fans were picking the team they’d never be a consistent line up for more than 2 games without the amount of resting that fans demand. I get that it’s needed now and again, but unless you’ve got a bit of an injury issue an athlete should be fine to play a good run of games without needing a game. It’s not that uncommon players play almost every game of the season without being a physical wreck by the end of it

Our home.
Cedric should be playing instead of bellerin.
Thats not the issue catalyst. Its abt the amount of time needed for recovery between games. So the game against City could have done with even more players being rested. The issue is of course when players come in after months off they are rusty. Which is why you need the manager to be rotating the squad properly before that happens, so that most squad players are always ready. That in my opinion hasn't been happening and Arteta has been riding a few players way too much. Recipe for injury.

No issue with starting Saka this game, just wish we weren't so reliant on him every single game.
Partey I'm okay with him being benched. We rushed him back once before and ended up losing him for way longer. We should have enough to put these lot away and if not, he's still there on the bench.
