Scott Brown

One of the greatest tricks that Brendan Rodgers, pulled off was convincing Scott Brown he was an absolutely top class footballer.

He had him feeling ten feet tall, strutting about the pitch thinking he was invincible (domestically at least).

It was sickening to witness as he helped put us to the sword again and again - but fair play to Brendan.

Brown was a great footballer until he signed for Celtic

totally changed the way he played to fit into Strachans way of playing and struggled for a while to hold a place in the team due to a number of reasons

but he's won 2 players player of the years, theres no greater honour

He was lucky to survive the Deila years, he was awful for us but bounced back as you say under Rodgers but you could tell especially 2nd half of last season he was finished

Copenhagen games he was awful in

He'll be away in the summer, if I were him I'd retire and focus on coaching

he gave him a defined roll, clear instructions on what to do on the park.

the more i think about lennon as a manager the more of a joke it becomes.

i'd keep him as a coach tbh.

Is this the same Lennon that has won you everything domestically with a 70% win rate

Odd how he's not good enough now

I dont think any Celtic fan on here thought he was good enough despite the stats.

I assune youre trying to WUM here? You'll need to do better.

Brown is the perfect metaphor for celtics season
A season too far, ageing and slowing down, other clubs got your measure
Pleasing, very pleasing.

See when you put it like that, you're an even better one.

I honestly can't believe he's still in the job.

I think he'll be here next season, rumours are that hammonds getting binned so thats the recruitment, the pandemic and the players mentality all blamed before the manager.

i think a mix of two things.

under gerrard rangers started the season well and then collapsed under pressure, pressure they are not experiencing this year but nonetheless they are playing well.

secondly, we're phish

Luck as well.

There has been a fair bit of chat that Celtic have been 'unlucky' this season.

I like that.

Biggest fraud to wear the Celtic jersey and armband.

Celtic won the title for years because they were better
We are winning this year cos we are better
Many reasons why, players, managers, coaching etc

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed.

Like Celtic I think Rangers came into this season under tremendous pressure.

We have just handled it better.

There has been a marked change in how we manage games. In all the games we have been a goal up - Hibs, Pittodrie twice, Caltic, Killie etc I have not really felt overly concerned that we were going to drop points.

That has been down to a mentality shift and better organisation and coaching.

We seem to have the attitude that 3 points is all that matters and the absolute belief in every game that we can win them.

I'm not a fan of his but that's a bit unfair. He's maybe unfairly elevated due to the sheer amount of medals though. From just a personal view, I don't think celtic under Rodgers would have brought the hammer down on rangers quite as well without him. He set the tone on treat us like we were a diddy team to the rest.

i do think rangers have been very good this season zach but i also think the pressure they previously cracked under is no longer there to trouble them

thats not their problem though

He will see out his career at the club he loves.

Brown has decisions to make and hopefully he consults far and wide. He's done his badges. If he harbours ambition to manage the club he should go away, learn the trade, see if it is for him and still have the fall back of a guaranteed job coaching at Lennoxtown if he fails.

He is such a big personality I think he could be a distraction to any new manager and the squad who presumably will still respect him as Mr Celtic, captain etc.

I'd understand why the board would still want him around as they will view his loyalty as an excuse to pay him less than the going rate plus a potential mole as to what is really going on up there.

Go away, come back on your own terms.
