For me our most important games are against the bottom 14, last night was a free swing at Liverpool but next up Fulham and Sheffield, we MUST be winning those games, no excuses

Yeah this is true. But our own performances in these games also haven't been good enough at all. No goals in open play in games against Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Liverpool so far. And not many chances created in those games either- in fact the 2 yesterday were the only clear cut ones I can think of in all those games. It is quite concerning actually.

It's good how consistent we are against the smaller sides now, but we won't be making that step up until we can perform in these ones too.

Think that shows why having a poor record against the top teams isn't necessarily the end of the world if you're beating all the other teams

This is a really good point. we'll have to adjust our play accordingly to get over the line in these games. However there is a noticeable difference in how sides like Arsenal, Chelsea, and City set up against us. although I don't think that was the case yesterday. The last two time they played at OT Liverpool I felt were quite cautious but at home they usually try to blitz us (always has been the case even before Klopp). I think yesterday their front three are horribly out of form and we dealt with them quite easily

We haven't been as good as we were just after the restart last season. The form of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood has been poor compared to then. Even Fernandes has seen a dip. Our defence has its own issues as well. At the end of last season we started to dip. We didn't pick up until after Arsenal defeat. Yet we have yet to hit those heights. How many times was the ball played early or too late and having a player off side? We seem to be doing it a lot more. We've been lucky with injuries this season and having a better squad.

If we finish the month top of the league I'd be really happy.

Our defence is looking better now so we just need our forwards to start firing. We also looked stronger at the end yesterday as well which bodes well.

Hopefully Ole will use the game v Liverpool next week to go after them. A win against one of the top sides would do us wonders.

City are in control now, there next few games are almost guaranteed wins for them.
It's going to be tricky for us because the past few games Bruno, rashford and martial have all been utter fecking garbage.
Hopefully pogba can keep improving and pull us through, can't see that happening though.

A Liverpool fan has just said that since they appointed Klopp, he's had 5 0-0 results against us.

I've looked into it a bit further and 3 of them are against Ole, so I think it's fair to say Klopp knows how dangerous United can be on the counter and prefers a much more defensive mentality against United.

On the other hand we have still been getting result despite their being garbage and if they hit form in the run in we could be in for a good finish to the season. City have to be favourites now but you never know when heir focus shifts to the CL it could be different. Looking forward to the second half of the season

City gonna coast it now. In second gear they'll be too much for every one else. Not even close.

Current Pl pace is so far off their usual level it won't be hard to pull away. Liverpool have mf at cb and that's left a void in the middle for sure.

United attacks was awful tbh, against two cbs you'd expect the forwards to blitz them for fun, they did little.
In fact they seemed to panic pass the ball up the pitch and lose the ball for little reason several times.

City are another level to united. Not even close. Can't see city having another half season with so little points and so few injuries.

I think City are favourites now but, in this strange season, you never know what can happen. It could all come down to who can get their best team on the pitch the most times.

We've seen Covid can decimate squads and as the season draws to a close you could be six points clear with 3 games left but have to play the kids the last three games due to an outbreak (as they surely won't extend the season with the Euros coming up). So no-one should take anything for granted.

Let's just hope United keep picking up the points and let's see where that takes us. Just breaking up City and Liverpool would be progress. Our defence has also been better since the turn of the year too so let's hope we can get our forwards firing again. I think in some of these upcoming games we can afford to break up McFred and have some more progressive players in the team. Time for VDB to shine perhaps?

Remind me of how many goals we have scored in the last 4 games.
2......

2 goals in 4 games. Awful.

Our forwards were largely out of form against villa as well.

Pogba has been our best player the past 4 or so games. Bruno has been pretty poor recently.

So yes, hopefully pogba can pull us through seeing as the rest of our attackers are not doing too well right now.

Not rocket science really

Too right, no technique. Just hit and hope is Pogba way. I think we actually have been decent in all the home games but we bottled the key moments. We deserved to win most of them. Remember when Mourinho used to park the bus and hope for a lucky result but now the opposition are the side getting lucky results against us. Swings and roundabouts they say.

Mean all the big games we have done decent. Just a few errors by our players cost us wins. If our front three from last season especially Martial and Greenwood were on form then maybe Rashford wouldn’t be playing all the time. Rashford was the most frustrating player behind Fernandes yesterday and then Pogba added to the frustration missing a chance even a 6 year old should score 9 times out of 10. It was easier to miss the goalkeeper than hit him.

That is 2 consecutive seasons Man City had 35 points after 17 league games. People need to realise this is more the norm for them now. I think they will hit around the early 80’s points wise again mainly due to the fixture congestion or high 70’s.

See.. i was hoping Pogs would pull us through, with our hilariously out of form forwards (martial, rash, greenwood).
