Speaking of the which did Lennon articulate the s & s?
Rhetorical Q don't give a fvk actually.
"Erm
It was them changing the distancing that’s the point."
Yeah....that's my point too
When Celtic first came home, despite the change in status regards Dubai and the travel restrictions, no-one would've been self isolating
....then Julien tests positive
Celtic speak with the authorities, and given one of the group have tested positive days after coming back from a country that's now no longer exempt, they revisit the previously agreed distancing measures, and decide, on the grounds of safety, that a further 13 have to isolate
This decision is then justified with someone in isolation testing positive at a later date
Yeah, but you don't know if that person would have been in the <insert a number <13 > that would have had to isolate under the pre-existing 2m rule.

Well my understanding is that, according to the info put forward by Ginger, flights have been going all over the place with less than 2m distancing in place
If that's the case, then in this instance, the authorities know that one of the group has tested positive for COVID, and if they are now simply applying the close contact rules that they apply to everyone when it comes to track and trace, and that's why 13 people were told to isolate, I don't see where the problem is
And again, to sound like a broken record once more....the authorities could have been well within their rights to tell all 60 folk that went on the trip to go into self isolation, same as everyone and anyone else that travelled from Scotland to Dubai, at a time when that country was exempt from the quarantine rules
I'm really struggling to see where Celtic have been hard done by here

They are elite footballers and as such they have the privilege of not having to isolate under the new aviation rules.
That would stop any European games altogether involving clubs from the U.K.
It would also stop the rugby and any other sports involving elite persons travelling.
You still don’t get it. The close contact rules are 2m. The gov seemingly chose to apply a 2 row rule? That’s where the perceived discrimination is.

With of course making exception for airline travel where it is unachievable.
The 2m rule is a guide. Not a law.
Another issue why did the gov get involved at all and not just leaving to the T&T people? Cos it became political?
Far be it from me to suggest Lennon has no Idea what he is talking about, particularly given yesterday's evidence.
Do we actually know that 2 rows is more than 2 meters?

Well Celtic themselves claim they involved the government in the first place.
Second do we know that it wasn't just track and trace

"They are elite footballers and as such they have the privilege of not having to isolate under the new aviation rules."
If Celtic could not prove that they maintained their COVID bubble while they were away...as elite football clubs have been told to do when they are travelling...then the privileges extended to them will rightly be taken away
There seems to be plenty of evidence to suggest that all protocols were not strictly adhered to in Dubai, with your own assistant manager stating that there were some "minor slip ups"
Again, struggling to see the issue here

Only to ask permission with which they submitted every detail including the seating plans on the plane. All accepted.
The 2m rule is a guidance and where not achievable the use of PPE is required. Airlines adopted the use of face masks for this.

So many questions! And nobody here has the answers.
The gov involvement was prior to the trip and NL makes a decent point that you’re not telling us the gov didn’t know o the Saturday that lockdown was being announced o the Monday?
Anyways, as it was a night flight I’d imagine they had lie flat biz class type seats at 50-80” seat pitch?

So the government were already involved.
Fact is if none of them had covid then no problem.
1 did so people had to self isolate.
I honestly don't get the point here, especially when 1 of them tested positive.

That does not permit any government to make up new rules and cite them however much you want to try and avoid that straightforward issue.
