I definitely remember Mourinho defenders saying "Wait till he's been at the club a year before judging". Funny how that's shifted to "another 2-3 transfer windows."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The best is when they realise that the ‘deadwood’ won’t be replaced by better players - more deadwood gets brought in - as those same deadwood players become key players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Also Jose is football cancer and that is before we even begin to discuss his appalling treatment of the delicious Eva
I wont get into the ridiculous Poch/Jose row because Poch did something that Jose will never achieve by staying at ONE club for 5 years where Jose comes in spends a fortune usually picks up a trophy or two then leaves that club in chaos.
Its not really that hard when you have the spending power of Chelsea, RM or utd, who seem to be a lot better off without jose btw.
What I will say in favour of Jose is that he does not stupidly rest players for cup competitions he does send a side out to really compete no matter what competition.
This was one of the things I hated about Poch was his tinkering for supposedly 2nd rate cups.
We are not city or bayern who regularly win league titles most of our fans would be more than happy to win a "two bob cup" as they call it, like the league cup and so would I be.
I am nowhere near convinced we can beat city in the final but I will be over the moon if we do.
Fair play to Jose for actually trying his best to take us into the next round of these "second rate cups"

Fair play to Luka, when Sandy left he saw an opening and he took it

Yes he has and he has so many of Sandys annoying traits like lobing on to a post and completely changing the agenda that it really does make me wonder, wait till he start puting up 3 or 4 posts a day all about the same subject

We haven't faced anyone of note in Europe - though it's difficult to forget that in the qualifiers, we were 1-0 down to the team laying 5th in the Bulgarian league with 10 mins to go. Fortunately, they had 2 men sent off and we got through by the skin of our teeth.
FA Cup - Marine.
Carabao - Good draw against a disappointing Chelsea, and then bye's and Championship teams.
We are sh!t mate. With a sh!t manager.
In Son, Kane and Ndombele, we have world class players who constantly get us out of trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sh!t fans like you and most other posters on here. You forgot to write that mate. I feel for you though. Pinning all your hopes on King Jose being sacked by Xmas. Bahahahahaha
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why am I a sh!t fan? I want what is best for the team, I think Mourinho is a disaster for us and the longer he stays, the more damage he will do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The damage was done by Poch. You should be glad Jose is here. Look how well he has improved Kane, Son Ndombele. Brought in Reg and PEH. Lloris is looking better. Transformed Dier. Brought Toby back into the team. It takes time to undo the mess Poch left us in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, I'm absolutely staggered by that last comment. Do you really think over a year on that we've improved? Sure we had a bit of a dip in form at the end of Poch's reign but you can't judge him entirely on that. The football was great, got to a couple of finals, very nearly won the greatest club competition of all yet for some reason you think we should be glad Jose is here? The football is absolutely woeful mate. Plus in order to get to the League Cup final, we've had some serious luck with the draws. Same goes for the EL.
In short, we now play terrible football and are inconsistent in terms of results. We have no real plan other than giving the ball to our best two players to get us out of a hole. Under Poch we had a team, an identity and a plan. I'm so shocked that anyone can push their head above the parapet and declare we've improved without even a hint of irony. It's laughable to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In short when Poch left we were 14th in the league. Results/league positions have improved. Yes the football has not been great at times but there have been improvements to the players I have mentioned previously. With this and another window or 2, to get rid of the deadwood who have been talked about upteens times. Then allow Jose to bring more better players in we will only get better. In my opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone always uses that 14th place position as a stick to bash Poch with. We had a dip, sure but we'd never previously been in that position. We were always in the top 4. Surely an average should be taken regarding Poch's reign. If we look at isolated points in a season, you could argue that Pep should have been sacked at City. About the same point this season that Poch was sacked in the previous campaign, City were in the bottom half of the table. Should he be judged on that? No. Should he be sacked for that? No. Teams have fluctuating fortunes at times and I think the fans have completely underestimated the effect losing the CL final had on our morale. That was the culmination of 5 years hard work and we tripped at the final hurdle. That's hard to lift yourself up from. The way you normally get over something like that is bringing in a few top players to reenergise the squad and rebuild belief, as Liverpool did after losing the first CL final by bringing in Allison and VVD. Levy didn't back Poch so we had lost the final and not refreshed the squad. Of course you lose faith and drop your levels. It's natural. But to drop it all at Poch's door is nothing short of moronic. The buck stops with Levy for me. One for not keeping faith with Poch and more crucially, not backing him in the same way Jose was last summer. If we'd done that at the right time, we might be in Liverpool's shoes now.
The one thing that separates Poch from Klopp and Pep is that the latter two have been backed by the owners financially.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasnt just that we were in 14th.
The back end of the previous league season we P12 W3 L7 D2. 11 pts from a possible 36. Less than 1 point per game.
Sure may be the squad needed improving & fresnening up and the UCL was a bit of a distraction, but these results are inexcusable.
But then in 19/20 we went P12 W3 L4 D5 , 14 points from 36.
Seriously ask yourself, do you really think 25 points from 24 games is acceptable. Would you be standing up for Jose if this was his record.
The sad thing was there was no sign of things improving. It had become a mess and one that Poch was not able to turn around. Some things had become big issues. No away win in 10 months. 6 clean sheets in over 30 games. An inability to break down a parked defence.
Not sure if peoples poch-tinted specs are clouding things but actually our style for the last 24+ games of Poch was pretty poor, a real struggle. Not entertaining or successful.
(By comparison, Arsenal now have 27 points from 19 after a very poor season - more than Poch managed in his last 24 games at Spurs)
Nothing i would have loved more than Poch bringing home silverware for us, totally gutted when he left,
Jose is a very different manager but has us in 1 final and 3 other comps at this stage of the season and we cannot complain about this.
We are a developing side. We have only really had a complete squad to progress with since the restart back in July, when we had Kane Son Sisokko back from long injuries and actually our form through that period and this is right up there with anyones.
Loved our time under Poch. With never criticise him. It just came to a natural end.
It was time for Pochettino to go.
Mourinho is crap.
These two things are not mutually exclusive.
If we end top 4 and win a cup or 2, that already exceeds anything anyone has achieved at Spurs THIS MILLENIUM !!! In fact please feel free to identify when Spurs last won and cup and qualified for the Champions League / European Cup.
People need to adjust their fecking expectations. Calling Jose crap and he hasnt even been allowed to finish the season.
Sure, no trophy and 5th come May, call him crap!

That last line could easily become a reality. A lot of fans seem to be of the mindset that Mourinho is virtually guaranteed to win a trophy with Spurs this season because of his record.
I'm not particularly anti-Jose but whatever we think of him it is entirely possible that we won't win a trophy or get top 4 this season.

Well said. It always mystifies me how there are so many people who come on here talking like we win things all the time and have some sort of entitlement to put Spurs down constantly for what they see as under achievement. You can't under achieve in something that you have had no success in for years.
This season is clearly as good in terms of how many competitions we are still in, as any Poch achieved. Personally I couldn't care less about our style of play, if it results in some success come May..
