Average age of the squad is going to be up quite a bit compared to what it was. Not really a surprise with Mourinho here. We've already added Doherty and Bale. Potentially we could lose Dele and bring in Eriksen.
Eriksen still only 28. I am not against him rejoining.
Given a run in the team, I think he could potentially rediscover his form.
That third position alongside Kane and Son is still up for grabs and he offers something different.
It's clear that Alli is not in Jose's plans and I'd rather Eriksen fighting Bergwijn for the third spot over Lucas or Lamela.

Odd comment..... I dont like Jose’s tactics but have Kane & Son ever played better ?
It's possible that Alli has already peaked. It's not the first time a player with real potential fails to fulfil it. Remember when Jenas at Newcastle won YPOTY? He was in that bracket. He didn't get to the same heights as Alli but his career levelled out in much the same way.
In Jose's defence, and it's not a feeling I'm familiar with, Alli's form dipped a lot earlier than his arrival. He'd been out of form for 6 months to a year prior.
As much as I fear that he could become a brilliant player once again, it's not going to happen with us and it's going to get more and more toxic if he doesn't get his move. Levy needs to make a decision on who goes first - Alli or Jose. They clearly can't work together so one has to go. I'd like it to be Jose but that's just not gonna happen. Give him his move and use the wages to bring Eriksen back - at least Jose fancies him.

The thing with 3-4-3 is that its essentially just trading a second DM for a third CB. Yes the full backs can push forward more, but i don't buy this view that its way more attacking.

Good point! I'd actually forgotten about Vinicius, who to be fair, has looked pretty sharp. Says something about how little game time he's getting that he wasn't even in my thoughts. He deserves more.
My point wasn't about goals though, I've no doubt CV would be a very able deputy for that. It's more the whole picture. Kane is our highest goalscorer (level with Son) and our highest assist maker. Lose him and you not only lose the goals but the creativity that puts the chances on a plate. That's frightening.
Of the three midfield options (PEH, Sissoko and Ndombele), you'd probably say Ndombele is the only creative one but he has the sum total of 3 goals and 1 assist. To put that into context, he has assisted less than both Reguillon and Aurier.
This is why I think we need Eriksen. We don't have the craft in midfield. I love Ndombele and he serves the same purpose as Dembele did. He won't score or assist loads, but he will connect the play. Eriksen can take the burden off Kane and Son, who together have an astounding 24 goals and 17 assists in the Prem already this season.
