I think it would be a weird time to get rid after such a tough game, unless it was an absolutely embarrassing result. Chelsea have some "easier" fixtures over the next month, only Spurs really that you wouldn't expect them to win on paper. So I think he will be given at least a month to see how he does with those fixtures.

That is unless he loses the first couple of those easier games and he might be in trouble.

Only a matter of time now.

Just prolonging the inevitable. It's just nice he will get sacked before the fans are back to boo him.

I don't know why but I just have a feeling that it could be curtains if they come away with a bad result. I could see Leicester winning 3-0, I really rate them at the minute and am a bit concerned as to how well they're doing. With all the title talk for City and Liverpool, Leicester seem to be below the radar and they're winning a lot. They might be a real stumbling block for United's title charge, one people don't see coming all that much.

Burnley for you Thursday night isn't it? How you feeling about that one?? Surely going to be a struggle for Liverpool, given the lack of chances created lately. Burnley are probably the last team Klopp wants coming to Anfield. Anything but a win and you may be out of the top four which would be a disaster.

I can't believe Liverpool potentially dropping out of the top four this year hasn't been acknowledged by many. Though I did see an article on Sky with Klopp, in which he stated that a top 4 finish this season is now his and Liverpool's priority so at least he's taking responsibility with it.

Who knows. If Roman is fo used purely on CL football next season, then yes Frank could be in trouble.

But, the club has made a deliberate decision to build and develop a young team. Bringing in Allegri or another established type manager with a CL qualification remit just throws away 18 months hard work with the young players.

So..impossible to know, but my instinct says he won't get sacked this season unless we implode.

Tbh this season's such a one off if we brought in Allegri now, much as it would be a step backwards long term (IMO) I'd equally make us title contenders this year on the spot

Think he's safe tonight even if we get pasted. Fulham was the one, if we hadn't of won that in combination with a heavy defeat tonight... wouldn't look good.

Surely you can plan more longer term without Frank? For example if you got Tuchel, he would probably play young players (he promoted Pulisic and Dembele at BVB) while having you challenging.

After the headache Conte gave Roman I can safely predict he won't go near Tuchel with a 10ft barge pole.

If we get 8 pts from Fulham onward next four games, & get past Luton in the cup, Frank is ok...much less & he's on thin ice

This pre supposes we get a point tonight, a draw minimum home to Wolves & beat Burnley

I don't care, I'd welcome Avram grant back with Benitez, Sarri and Villas Boas as assistants if it meant Lampard was fired. I have no enthusiasm for Chelsea playing anymore with Lampard in charge because this team is going nowhere under him.

He’s nowhere near as bad as Conte, though.

Obviously questioning board decisions in public isn’t a good look, but they weren’t exactly unwarranted with Dortmund and PSG.

Conte is the most demanding cuuuunt in football.

It's a myth. Tuchel's complaints were perfectly justified at both clubs.

I just see no way that Liverpool score, unless it's a penalty or something.

0-0 or a 0-1 Burnley shock for me.

That's a very old photo from when he left to go to New York and then subsequently joined Man City - as I'm sure you're well aware.

And if you knew your beans you'd also know the amount of $hit that individual received!

I can very safely predict Roman won't see Tuchel as an appealing option.

He's not got a good enough CV to warrant it on that basis (Allegri does), he's not hipstery enough to appeal to his romanticism (like AVB & Sarri did), and he's not the type to play politician in public (like Ancelotti). He's not a Abramovich manager.

Grant will be back before Tuchel gets in the door.

posted on 19/1/21

I think you’re overthinking it. Chelsea’s managerial appointments don’t all fit into neat little boxes. He might not be as appealing as other options, however, I don’t think it’s for the reasons you’ve given.

If we want there & re-appointed Grant (huh...) the question of who we'd bring in as assistants to make him look good this time is a very good question.

I see that Buvac guy, Klopp's old #2, is in Russia atm? Coincidence?

It would look like Chelsea had appointed Emperor Palpatine and Kylo Renn if Grant and Buvac took over.

Quite proud of that one if I don't mind myself saying.
