It's going berserk over there in poor old Blighty by the looks of things - can't see how anyone could lift restrictions anytime soon - but no doubt Johnson will find a way. Still it'll be alright (if you're his mate) cos there's always the magic money tree...

At least the Orange One has left the White House across the pond and we can all breathe a bit easier now. Please raise a glass tonight for this very great mercy - the world's a little bit safer and the White House quite a lot cleaner.

As for the footy, God only knows how the lower league clubs can carry on much longer without a sizeable wedge of support. It seems like this might well become the new normal...

I agree that the football is not the same without the crowds, but at least we are getting football. And we have been treated to some sparkling football from Leeds. I think our players and management would be pretty upset to hear you calling it 'sterile'. They are giving it everything they've got.

Seen every game for the past four years live either on Sky or via LUTV. Prior to that I went to matches. Whilst there is an obvious difference between seeing games in the flesh and on the small screen, I see little difference between what we have now and what I have been used to.

My comments weren’t aimed at players or club, I think the football has been great and feels like club have done all they can.

It’s the product that is sterile and the product is more than just the play in the pitch. It’s the atmosphere, the crowds coming into grounds, the humourous banners, the songs at the relevant time, the cried noise during attacks and near misses, you realise how much these actually contribute.

Don’t miss the crowds at all watching the games on tv.
I barely notice any difference at all.
The big difference is for those used to going week in week out when atmosphere does count.

not sure sterile is the word I'd use, but get what you mean.

not sure if its crowd reaction or VAR but there''s something a miss for me when goals go in. Also think teams react to crowds a lot more than you think... ball in the middle of the park, you hear that raw as if to say come on lets get forward.

not sure that can be replaced, wouldn't say sterile, more muted ?
