I am partial to the odd bottle of Highland Park. I'm far from being an expert on Whisky but this one is pretty smooth.
Neat of course!
I got given a bottle of Welsh whisky for Christmas (I didn't even know there was such a thing!). Penderyn single malt, its about £40 a bottle and its fantastic. Also got a bottle of Monkey Shoulder (scotch from Grants), also lovely.
Both gone now
Penderyn is fantastic! Do you like your Whisky to be smoky or more smooth?
I collect whisky a little bit. Buy one to drink and one to keep.
My taste is cheap ancnoc 12 is my easy drinker, and.is excellent. £30
Highland park twisted tattoo is nice £65, aged in wine casks which is quirky.
It's mostly ardbedgs that I collect, grooves, kelpie, blaack, still young.
I drunk a 70cl bottle of ardbeg alligator, which is now £450 for 5cl bottles
TMQ a Celtic fan on here likes his whisky
I’m not a Connoisseur but I do like a single malt, best, Glen Keith and Dilwhinne are affordable and sometimes on offer at Tesco & Morrisons, I won’t pay over £25 for a 70cl bottle
I also believe it’s all down to personal taste, I’m not keen on smoky or peaty I prefer a smooth slightly sweet flavour.
Blair Atholl 12y is going down well, as are a few Caol Ila's, in particular the art of whisky making 7 year old. It'l was cheapish when I bought it, no idea if it's expensive now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything, love it peaty or light, single malt or blended, scotch, irish, bourbon, sour mash...
My wife bought me a subscription to https://www.whisky-me.com/ for my birthday. I get a double shot of a different whisky in the post every month. I really like it and have bought a couple of bottles based off liking the whisky of the month.
i like the flavored whiskeys like caramel n maple etc
a heathen i know
Easy to drink and quite cheap I go for Haig club, a bit more expensive Glenfiddich 15 or 18, my favourite single malts
A treat are some of the Japanese whiskies, Hibiki is nice, but getting dear
As a Welshman I have to like Penderyn, its the rules. There's a little hint of vanilla in there and it goes down very nicely.
The nicest one on the cheaper end of the scale for me is famous grouse. Quite a smoky woody taste there.
I am very partial to a Jamesons. Your Irish whiskey is more of a smooth taste.
Favourite scotch is Glenffidich. If you want to splash out on yourself the 15 is fantastic.
I've got a bottle of monkey shoulder but I haven't got around to trying it. I've heard good things though.
If you're after a bourbon, gentleman Jack is far superior to normal Jack. Also Jack honey is very nice for something a bit different.
I've rambled but hopefully something I've said is of use 😅

I got a Japanese whisky when I was best man at a wedding. The bottle lasted longer than his marriage.

Ardbeg and Laphroaig are king for me! Has anyone else tried Jameson's Black Barrel?

Japanese whiskeys a re great.
My favourite is a blend called Habiki from santori whiskey. If you prefer single malts they do one called Yamazki.

Not tried that.
Ardbeg wee beastie I bought just before Christmas and it's excellent £35 ish, young whisky very peaty and medicinal, almost a star anise character on the nose.

I would highly recommend Black Barrel. If you get the chance, go to Bushmills distillery!
Lagavulin 16 Yr is a good staple for any household. Solid peat level but layered, with an array of sweet notes coming through the smoke for a nice finish.
