Why’s he gonna have a few million in the bank in ten years but not now? Not many mangers are successful for a decade, doubt he’s gonna be that great either way. I think he’s trying to be a manager because footballs his life and he probably doesn’t know anything thing else.

But it's a job with pressures that can wear you down, so one day you think "I don't need this" and jack it in.

He’s a thick Scouser, but I don’t think that means he won’t understand that side of the game.

Carra and Neville touched upon this last week. They spoke about when Rooney was on mnf, and Carra expressed how impressed he was with Rooney’s understanding of that side of the game, as well as how he’d always shown that from what he knew of that from England - something Neville had agreed with, knowing him very well.

That doesn’t mean it’d translate to the pitch, however, and Neville actually said he’d hope that Rooney wouldn’t get too caught up with that side of the game and would like his teams to play with the fire on the pitch that he did as a player.

But I think you’re really underestimating Rooney’s intelligence and understanding of the game.

Not being funny but you don't need an IQ of 140 to be a manager of a football team.

You often see managers over analysing the game all the time.When Tinkerman suddenly decided keeping the same startering 11 as much as he could with 5000/1 outsiders and kept things simple he won the league with Leicester.

Doing the basics and doing the basics well and getting a team to follow simple instructions goes a long way.
