ReallySo these guys are close to Mbappe and Haalands level? You can take their goal tally in the SPL and Dutch league and half it for what they'd score in the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mbappe and Haaland are among the top strikers in the world irrelevent of age. And Haaland is on the list
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Edouard, Dembele and Malen are 22-24 and looking at their scoring record in seconds tier leagues they wouldn't be much upgrade on Laca. Plus a 20 year old, and a 23 year old having his first decent season. Best young strikers in the world

Any of the big clubs that need a striker should be keeping an eye on Calvert Lewin.

Everton are not selling DCL cheaply. He will not be good value for money for what they will want. Everton are a rich club.

He is more worthy of the £70m you paid for Pepe. I'm guessing it would cost that sort of figure.

What is the relevence of Pepe to the discussion? That was done on installments that Everton would be unlikely to agree to.

Calvert lewin would be brilliant for us. I would have him over both our strikers

Structured very differently to what Everton would accept. And more of a deterent to spend big on what is currently a half season wonder.

You spent over £50m on Aub, was that in instalments too? You are not a club to shy away from spending big on players if the chance is there.

I think spending big on DCL is still less risky than a one season wonder in the French league, even if it is in instalments.

We've got one here...name is Michy Batshuayi.
Year left on contract

I got Myron Boadu to 98 on Fifa so I think we should Sinn him.

Agree with Spurtle, tbh.

The Only issue is, we're likely not going to have any European football next season, so attracting the right players is crucial, and likely to be young 'up n coming' players rather than established players like DCL.

We will buy back Giroud from Chelsea or use Willian as a false no 9

Calvert-Lewin has been average for years before a pretty insane purple patch at the start of this season. There's more to suggest he'll revert to type than become the next big thing.

And I don't think any Arsenal fan considers Pepe to be an example of good business nor suggesting we do something similar again, so as DJ said, why is that a relevant comparison?

If Arsenal could somehow sign Haaland then that would imo be a massive statement. He's defo in our budget if rumours of a 60Mil release clause if true.

Doubt he would want to come to us but you never know.. 250k per week tempts most players in world football.

To be brutally honest (saying it as an arsenal fan, so not wumming), most of the top top young talent in the mould of RvP, Hazard, Aimar, Saviola who were already known globally before even transferring to the top 4 leagues will not be going to choose Arsenal. The regression of our attacking play since Wenger and thus reputation amoung players is just too big.

We need to start picking up 'failed' players with potential like Henry, Bergkamp, Forlan, who have made a first big step but just failed because they moved too early/were not suited to the competition/etc.

I believe Real Madrid might be in a wholesale period soon as all Spanish clubs are struggling with major debt. So if we can get our hands on Vinícius Júnior, Rodrigo, Asensio, Isco, we should give it a shot.
Same with Osimhen at Napoli or maybe some other players warming the bench in the serie A because older established players like Ronaldo or Ibra are claiming their spot.
