But Martials hold up play was good today. No goals doesn't matter.....

Said someone
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That was me mate.

Was just setting the cat amongst the pigeons. It worked
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ahhh. Of course you did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I did mate and not the first time. I missed the last couple of matches so wasn't on the match threads. But if you look further back I think they called it "barry'd".

Works every time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeh, whatever
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Barry'd 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it wasn't even me you plank

According to the facup website.
The winners of the cup get £1,800,000.

This is why nobody fecking cares anymore.

Championship teams get more money for being promoted to the PL.

Money is ruining football.

I remember the when FA cup was a huge ordeal.

Similar is happening to international football, nobody fecking cares.

Nobody wants to send their players to these cup games because these games don't earn their teams money.
Why risk injuring your best players and risk missing out on millions for staying in the PL or getting a promotion into the PL?

If either had pushed on like they should have done I think you'd be giving City a much better title challenge. Instead I feel you have next to no chance.

We are the highest scoring team in the league. 49 goals to City's 43.

The problem with our team is the defense not attack, 30 goals conceded against City's 14. Desperately need quicker centrebacks (and ideally an attacking right back.)

You do see how contradictory this is right... "Problem is defense not attack, but hey we should get a more attacking right back"

We have issues with attacking and defending, but the latter are more serious.

Part of the reason why we’ve scored so many goals (despite the lack of form of two of our most important forwards) is that we don’t defend as a team and rather than tracking and defensive overloading, we leave players up the pitch ready for the counter.

Whoever is playing CF and Bruno have next to zero defensive duties once the ball is out of the opposition’s half, and our wide forwards don’t help our fullbacks out nearly as much as most teams’ do.

I still stick by the fact Martial is a much better footballer than Rashford. His hold up play, link up etc is much better however Rashford has more moments. Rashford has to be one of the most infuriating players to be honest. Time and time again last night he literally just ran full pelt at the defenders in the hope he would go straight through them. He needs to get his head up and look for a pass. How this hasn't been coached out of him yet is beyond me. To get to the next level he really does need to start linking up with his teammates much more. You can see the frustration from Cavani with Rashford

We used to say that about Eric's reaction to Andy Cole in that first season, pure frustration at times.

There's a brilliant player in Rashford. He's 23 now, and I'm expecting major improvement in the next couple of years as he matures. His trajectory's been alright so far.

Difference is Andy Cole was the striker. Rashford is and more than likely always will be a winger throughout his career. He needs more to his game imo. There is a top player in there but lets not forget he has played 250 games now so regardless of age he has plenty of experience

I’m not arguing that his decisionmaking is up there with the best, but he is fifth in the league in assists this season. Only Kane, Grealish, De Bruyne and Fernandes have more.

He’s also eleventh in the league in total key passes amongst forwards, and third for our squad behind only Bruno and Shaw. He has made more key passes than Martial and Greenwood combined.

The idea that he’s selfish or he doesn’t link up well with his teammates is nonsense.

Don't understand the stick Rashford gets. He looks a little jaded atm but he gets goals.

Never rated Martial particularly. Great skill set but always looks like he owed something rather than just making it happen.

He’s not looked the same since his back injury. But despite a lot of his indifferent performances he’s still contributing in the final third. Obviously goals and assists aren’t the be all and end all, but they are important for forwards. And when you’ve got plenty of other attackers that aren’t contributing in that area, it’s a good thing he has been.

We’d be midtable without Rashford and Bruno this season. They are by far our most important attackers.
