Nagelsmann to replace Mourinho at Tottenham

Rodgers is my number 1 choice. He's proven his quality in the prem and plays lovely football (although is becoming more flexible and happy to win on the counter where necessary).

But I would be very pleased with Naggelsmann too. His record is impressive and his style is great on the eye.

Only question is could we land either of these? I think we have just enough pull still.

It does not matter who is in charge of the team, if we still have ENIC`s lack of ambition overseeing everything.

yes need a manager who can get a tune out of what we have, and not expect any great cash injections, Mourinho was never going to be that man

He's done a good job at making Leipzig looking like a well established top 4 side in Germany as well as getting through the group stages last night.

In a league where Bayern will almost always win it, it's a very competitive league outside of them, with the likes of Dortmund, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Monchengladbach and others always vying for CL spots as well, so consistently finishing there with Leipzig is good.

They looked decent last night, they had chances but just lacked the necessary quality at the end. Certainly not a poor side and when your best players end up getting poached by Bayern or other big clubs across Europe, you're bound to hit a wall somewhere but Leipzig keep on improving.

He'd do well at Spurs. Ridiculous to think what he has at his disposal despite only being 33. He may have done everything by the time he's 40.

Rodgers is a lovely idea but he'd be mental to come to us and I just can't see it happening. He's already at a club with a brilliant squad that will get CL this year and are in a title race.

We're mid table and have Matt Doherty.

Definitely from a football perspective a step down for Rodgers to join us.

Not for me. Only want managers who play good football going forward.

I wouldn't even want Simeone if he wanted to come.

Like I said the other day, Nagelsmann and Rodgers are going to need a lot of convincing to come to Spurs. Both likely to be in the CL league next season and Nagelsmann may even be offered the Barca job once they get rid of Koeman. Potter would be an excellent option though

So Jose Mourinho's side will play against Jose Mourinho's side in the Carabao cup final?

I wonder how that's going to work out. One thing for sure , Jose Mourinho's side are guaranteed to win that match

No chance! They're waiting to get the new president in place before handing the reigns to Xavi. Not a chance they'll go for JN.

I want to enjoy watching spurs. Especially when we're allowed back in. We pay enough money for our tickets for them to at least provide some entertainment!

AVB and Jose are the only two manager's who have sucked all the enjoyment of watching spurs out of me. I don't want another manager like that.

Given Levy’s comments about the size of the losses resulting from Covid/stadium closure...... I don’t expect Jose, Kane, Son, Bale or Dele to be at Spurs next season. As much as like Nagglesmann there’s no way he, or any other top coach will come to Spurs. Someone like Potter or manager who would see Spurs as a step up would work...... Sadly Spurs are facked..... time to hit restart and start again..

Simeone plays more negative football than the finished one. Effective but boring

I would be very relaxed taking a punt that Kane goes to City, Sonny to Juve, Dele & Hugo to PSG and Bale back to RM this summer...... Spurs will need to get their finances in order after a horrendous 18 months. There’s no chance Lewis will step in and do anything and being so depended on the stadium to generate the necessary revenue the only solution is gonna be to sell assets. If City get Kane they are probably favs for PL and CL next season.... The timing is perfect. Spurs are also in a terrible position to be negotiating with sonny on a new LT deal. Hugo, Dele & Bale’s wages are simply too much for what they offer....... If all that happens Jose will walk before he’s pushed

I wish people would stop mentioning Potter ffs, that would be one of the most underwhelming appointments ever, sure he plays some nice football and has achieved on a limited budget at low levels, but this is THFC, one of the biggest clubs in Europe. A club of our stature should be able attract (and needs) a bigger name.

It would be interesting to see how Mourinho would be doing had he been given a squad of quality players by ENIC, instead of half a squad of mediocrity.

£ity will likely be taking Haaland, so unlikely they will go after Kane and the added hassle of dealing with Levy. That said, we all know Levy will sell eventually if a big enough offer comes in.

Completely agree with this. It's worth watching MNF from a couple of days ago. Carragher was having his say on where we are with Jose right now. He said that Jose is a results manager. Given the concessions we've made in the quality of the football, you'd expect us to have increased our results output to make this whole thing worthwhile. He said Jose needed to top what Poch had achieved. That means winning a cup AND maintaining top 4. We might be lucky enough to win a cup but look at our league position. It's terrible. Carragher said winning the League Cup won't be enough to justify a fall in our league position and a dramatic fall in the quality of the football.

I'm glad someone outside the spurs fan base can see this for what it is. I'm a bit sick of pundits saying he's a winner. Surprisingly Jenas has been saying that of late like it's the players fault. Such lazy punditry. Carragher is the only one calling him out on it.

You mean the same squad that Poch managed to get to a CL final and a top 4 position? In fact Jose has a better squad. Look who he's brought in. The only players of significance to go in that time were Eriksen and Verts. Nuff said.

posted on 17/2/21

Nagelsman is the hipster choice, he's won nothing and his teams collapse when they get a serious challenge.

It's a no.

posted on 17/2/21

Jose certainly has a better squad than the year poch got CL and top 4.

Since then Reguillon, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Hoijbjerg and Bale have been added. All high quality players.

Eriksen and Verts have gone, Rose and Toby have declined. But on the flipside Kane and Son are now in their prime and even better.

It's actually a joke that people are talking about our squad as midtable. We are at worst on par with Chelsea and United. The only real area of weakness is centre back, but there's a lack of quality in that position in general.
