2006 and 2007 Wimbledon was much more Federer’s peak especially 2006 and Fed beat Nadal in both finals. In fact the difference in Federer’s performance in 2006 and 2007 is one of the true indicators of Federer’s initial decline in 2007.
2009 was past Federer’s peak but I agree in that match Nadal performed well and Federer broke down completely with numerous double faults and in the end he embarrassed himself by crying like a little girl.
Like you said, none of that matters as Djokovic will break the grand slam records anyway. I actually don’t mind if someone calls Djokovic the GOAT even if I disagree. What I find ludicrous is you can confidently say at 34 that he will dominate into his 40s. Let’s see what happens but it seems a bit far fetched to me.

I agree there is no one around to challenge him at the moment, but I feel this new generation is getting more consistent recently. Can they produce in the big slam finals? It seems like a long way off, but I’m hoping things can turn around soon.
Just got tickets for centre court for men's semi final day at Wimbledon. Exciting.
Nadal has pulled out of Djokovic. Djokovic path has become easier this year

Like I said give these guy 2 set leads against Novak in every grand slam final and they will lose it still. In best of 3 they can win but in grand slam finals where the pressure is the highest, they have little clue.

Another masterful prediction there...
So glad someone new won a slam. Bored of the 3 dinosaurs.

Federer hasn't won a slam in 3 years. He is irrelevant at this level.

I doubt they'd let him try and qualify for the women's event so that's ambitious
Is Murray (with his 3 irrelevant poxy slams) still crying over the little kid taking a toilet break?
Will he go crying to Mummy Judy now?
Remember when Murray thought he was part of the big 4?
Remember the English guys that won slams?
Yes our guys suck big time, but we do have the Queen of Queens
Murray did well considering he played with the big 3 but I reckon he should have won a couple more slams
