AWB’s decisionmaking, positioning and movement going forward have actually improved quite significantly this season.

He isn’t going to beat players very often or deliver Tellesesque crosses, but his work with Greenwood and Bruno has improved to the extent that we’re actually seeing *some* wide rotations and combinations getting players in behind now and again and also Greenwood being able to get on the ball again in the half space, which is where he needs to be operating from.

They’re miles away from

You call me W4nk Python then whinge about someone giving you abuse

Who are your favourite football pundits, Greg, if I may ask? Who speaks most sense to you when you listen to them?
-----

I quite like Neville and Carragher.
I like Roy Keane because he speaks like I do when it comes to United

They're my 3 favourites as I believe they speak with the most honesty about their own teams etc and they're not afraid to call out when someone or the team has been awful.

The rest are quite forgettable and just repeat the same old clichés over and over again.

Maguire is one of the best defenders in the PL.
----

Your comments are usually pretty good but I'm not sure what happened here??

I just don't see it, I don't see a good player there at all.
He'd have to go half a season without mistakes for me to consider him as 'good'.
So far he makes at least a mistake a game, mostly leading to goals.

posted on 22/2/21

Sorry, that should say 'quite often leading to goals', rather than 'mostly'.

Was going to write that they’re still miles away from Rashford and Shaw, who are working the rotations and getting each other in really well on the LHS now.

Must have had a small stroke or something

Just thought I’d have a quick look at what Neville, Carragher and Keane think about Maguire as a player...

According to the Premier League, Man Utd have made four errors leading to a goal this season (Liverpool and City with eight and one respectively).

One each for:
Henderson
De Gea
Maguire
Bailly

De Gea and Maguire clearly doing better per 90 min.

This is true, he talks absolute shiiiiit about United as well.

I’d take Souness’ opinions on Pogba more seriously than Keane’s on United.

I still enjoy watching Keane though. I mean, he often talks absolute slurry, but he’s funny as fack in more ways than one.

Some of the death stares he’s given Carragher over the years alone make him worth tuning in for.

I kind of view him as an angry and probably quite dangerous cross between Souness and Crooks.

posted on 23/2/21

Yeah the bloke’s a thug. I’ve never really warmed to Keane, even when he was a player. But the way he he speaks about the club and Ferguson with a complete lack of respect, a club and manager that gave him his illustrious career, just makes me dislike him even more.

I’ve never been overly defensive of what people say and think of them either. But when this guy was your captain and is adored by the fans, it’s just a spit in the face. He’s a bitter, classless priiiiick.

I’ve lost pretty much all respect for him since he left the club.

Great player, undoubtedly. Petty, petulant and unsympathetic human being.

You don't think when he says stuff like 'youre playing for Manchester United, that should be enough motivation for you to play football' makes complete sense?

After watching united walk about a pitch for 45 minutes a game....

It does to me.

Yeah I said quite often, rather than mostly.

Those stats are misleading.
They say Henderson was at fault for a goal, which isn't true, Maguire was at fault for that goal as he passed the ball to Henderson when the Sheffield playing was about 1 metre away. Maguire should have booted the ball clear rather than putting a young keeper playing his first game for United under huge pressure like that.
Maguire was awful against Sheffield, absolutely awful.

I'd love to know where you dug those stats up as well, because he's been directly at fault for more than 1 or 2 goals this season I've used my eyes, not relied on stats that don't paint the whole picture.

No I don’t think it’s that simple. It absolves the manager of any blame or credit for the motivation in the team.

There’s a reason the bloke was a shiiiiiit manager and it’s because he’s got the people skills of someone like VC.

Just because he was a highly motivated individual - that played under the best motivator in the game, when the club was the best in the land - doesn’t mean everyone else will be or should be playing for this current incarnation of Manchester United.

I sometimes think he knows this really and it’s just a dig at Fergie, he’s often played down his motivational skills.

But the problem is that psychopaths lack empathy, and he probably just doesn’t understand what motivates people.
