Will we ever be back to normal?

Who leaves for work at 5am ?!

On a serious note, while we are living with covid (potentially indefinitely) there may be some restrictions and more people will work from home or rotate between working from home and going in to work. I can’t see a return to the old normality in the next couple of years.

Doesn't look like there will be fans at the Carabao Cup Final.

Bummer for me as the last game I went to was last seasons.

It would have been a bit of Covid Closure if I could have gone to this years.

That’s a relief that I won’t have to pay to see us get thumped !

It's 2 months away, a lot can happen in that time.

It'll be fine. They can let in a home crowd with the assumption that none of them want to see anyone or show face over the next two months after the game.

Office working has a lot of Victorian idealism about it making people turn up, limiting lunch time, punctuality a sort of lack of trust you may not get your monies worth as an employer, but covid times have certainly challenged this conception and hopefully created a better quality of life when we emerge out of the pandemic but I think many anxieties will be present in people trying to get back to what in social life we previously had and some will cope with this better than others, probably the younger you are the easier it will be to readjust.
As an importer I don’t think most in the U.K. have realised just what the devastating impact on supply Brexit is having, it will be interesting to see the reaction when this becomes the focus not Covid and people realise how much they have lost and how little gained from our new found independence, it’s a minor story just now but it won’t be forever.

NO.
Vaccine is not 100% effective.
You will still need to wear a mask in company.
The virus has changed the world for ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well the mask bit certainly isn't true.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anthony Fauci says you will still need a mask.

My company has another 5 years lease on our office so they wont be going fully home working yet. I dont mind 1 or 2 days a week in the office though to see people

I would look forward to going back to the office at first but I would like to do a half and half.

I have saved on travel fares and have used that money towards car payments in order to bring those down.
Saved on food. I liked to eat in the coffee shops in London and restaurants but spent money on crap. That has changed.Only the odd take away now

The new normal. A lot more WFH (for those who can) and a different looking high street, and seasonal Covid epidemics like flu.

My only worry about the government plan is sending ten million kids back to school all at the same time, because if that doesn’t go well, it puts everything else in jeopardy.

What can be more normal, than sleep, eat and Wetherspoons. Surely that won`t change?

Playing the bullying OAP card. Where have we seen that before?

You are aware we can see all you're previous posting history?

One day a week in the office will do for me, no need for any more than that.

Looking forward to the football in the summer, hopefully England do well and lift everybody’s spirits if only for a week or two.

And remember.....you can become an asymptomatic spreader of the bug.
And the fact that you don't feel sick does not mean the virus isn't eating whatever brain you have.
Nobody knows yet what it does or can do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Get a grip Ted you loon. It’s a coronavirus, it causes respiratory infection, it doesn’t eat your brain, people will not have to wear a mask in company forever, that is the whole point of a vaccine programme the same as the flu. Yes you can spread it while vaccinated, but if 95% of the population are also vaccinated then the risk is minimal. There will be continue to be some deaths long yes, but that’s no different to the flu, pneumonia etc and is simply a fact of life - old people and those with underlying health conditions die every winter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just wonder how many deaths will be deemed acceptable? The gaslighting is already off the scale.
