Doherty hasnt become a bad player overnight but clearly lost confidence and doesnt suit the team.

Assuming Reguilon stays we would be ok getting in a RB and CB in. Along with a midfielder and shifting some deadwood, with couple of good additions to the squad coming back from loan the squad really wont be in bad shape at all.

New keeper, forward and playmaker also favourable but it will be a frustrating market i feel. Moving players on needs to be done proactively and as priority early doors.

I also think people underestimate the effect COVID may have had on Doherty as well. Better performers than him (ASM for example) have missed a fair few months because of it - it may have had a serious impact on his fitness for a bit

The Nagelsmann news excite me I must say. No smoke without fire as they say and Matt Law is a fantastic journalist

Thats a fair point.

He does look very flat footed when defending. Almost like he's a little heavier than he naturally is. I know when I've put on a few lbs in the past and go to play football, I'm very flatfooted

I'd like to see Nagelsmann manage someone like Southampton or Wolves before trusting him with the Spurs job. He is still young and the Prem is totally different to the German league. AVB before going to Chelsea was a young hot manager once upon a time and at least won the Portuguese league. We all know how that went.

Nagelsmann hasn't had a managerial medal to his name yet. On another forum someone called him the hipster's choice LOL

Yeah the business of getting rid of the clogged, clogging up our squad is so vitally important

Lucas
Lamela
Sissoko
Winks
Dele
Dier
Sanchez
Toby (purely based on age)

Thats worrying how many there are there to upgrade on which will cost a fair whack.

But there are 6 overseas players there that would free up the possibility of bringing more foreigners in

You have to wonder are we going to be able to find buyers for the above? Dele - PSG? Maybe the like of Newcastle, Everton, West Ham, Fulham(if they survive) can buy some of the others but will Levy's valuations be met? Could be a loooong summer.

I would still keep Toby with his experience around next season. If we can find buyer for Dier and Sanchez, they should be out of the door first. Dier cost us £3.5m. I'd take £15m. He isn't classed as homegrown either.

I'm enjoying the rumors it means Jose is finally under some pressure and that he could be fired at least by end of the season. Imagine having to put up with this for another season.

Agreed. The rumours are now slowly coming out, which means something is going on behind the scenes. I personally think if we lose to Burnley, he will get the sack and Ledley will take charge until end of season. It isn’t ideal, but if it stops the rot for now, I’m all for it. Then obviously Nagelsmann will be the one to take over in the summer. One things for certain, Jose is a dead man walking

Nagelsmann seems like a good prospect. Big job though for someone so young coming into the PL for the first time. And you'd wonder why he'd want to give up a team in a good place and with CL, for Spurs.

I'd be interested to know who the other targets are on the list.

I am enjoying it tooπŸ‘
Can’t go wrong either way in my view!
A fresh young manager might be the impetus the club needs right now - no offence Jose!

Is anyone else not worried about the rats in the changing room leaking info to Journo's? These are the same rats that got Poch the sack too.

They will get the next manager sacked as well. RAT FC

Yeah but I mean we look like we're due an overhaul soon. A lot of players to move out in the next few years in all likelihood, plus there are many big jobs that would be a step up from where Leipzig are. Not us.

My money is on Dele, Dier and Winks. The last couple of years there have been rumours of Winks wanting to leave which seem random considering he is supposed to be a Tottenham boy. Obviously occestrated by his agent who has been instructed by Winks himself.

this is what those wanting a 'winner' never understand. Tottenham are a completely different club with the owners and how it is run. To be as good as we can be under this model, we need a Poch in his first 4 seasons like successor, which can only come with a progressive coach, over a arrogant manager coming in with a history of trophies.

I would love Nagelsmaan as our next coach, it’s what we should’ve done when sacking Poch, a natural progression and the kind of coach that would be a much better fit at THFC than Jose. It’s an obvious rumour though, and I don’t put too much stock into it. He’s become very highly regraded and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were bigger fish than us trying to poach him this summer. Also don’t think Levy will give up on his Jose vanity appointment without a fight, meaning we could miss the boat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nagelsman is young and not afraid to play a flair type of football!
I am all for winning mentality but not by playing a turgid football!
