I get the distinctive feeling that it matters not Hamish who the name is ...you'll trot out these feelings to downplay it
And of course we will do the opposite
It's all relative anyway , we are looking for an improvement on Lennon .
Surely to fck..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that the feeling you get, aye?
I will have absolutely no hesitation in congratulating celtic if they put a solid manager in place or even pull a spectacular rabbit out a hat.
I have said for months I dont think Howe is your man.
And I have given reasons for that which I think are valid.
Just because some of you dont agree it doesnt mean I am just being Rangersy. We are allowed to have different views on things - its healthy.
I think finding a manager for the OF is a helluva task. There are a special set of circumstances up here.
Where else would you need a police escort out the ground after losing your first cup game in four years?
I like Howe and I think he has something about him.
I just think going from a cosy seaside town where he is worshipped even though he ultimately failed to keep them at Bournemouth to managing a Celtic team that needs a complete rebuild is too much for a man who has left his home town once and didnt last a year.
If you dont agree then fine

To compare SGs experience to Howe or even comparing Liverpool to Bournemouth doesnt add up for me. Bournemouth is a seaside town with no real demands on the football club and a stadium with a capacity of 11k.
----------------------
But yet Gerrard has still won as many EPLs as Howe has? even playing for a "massive" club?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So its only EPLs that count?
FA cup? UEFA Cup? a wee trophy called the Champions League?
I think Gerrard played a decent part in some of those successes.
But, hey, you know that fine well.

Ralph Milne has more Scottish trophy wins than Shane Duffy

I seem to remember there being fairly lengthy discussions on here when Rangers fans claimed Lennon was a massive downgrade on Rodgers.
Logically it was pretty clear to Rangers fans at least at the time.
I am sure there were a fair few Celtic fans arguing the case for Lennon back then. Probably not so much today.
And of course there were plenty of celtic fans pointed out the gamble Rangers took with SG.
It could have gone horribly wrong but instead it now looks like a genius bit of recruiting.
Theres a lot of luck involved in recruiting managers - particularly when you go for an inexperienced 'legend' player.
Rangers made a bold choice and as luck would have it SG seems to have worked out pretty well.
I want a competitive Celtic - Jan and Feb have probably been the dullest on the pitch for Rangers since Celtic gave up all pretences of competing for the league.

Really?
My recollection is there were very few out and out enthusiasts and about as good as it really got was 'he deserves a chance for getting us out a hole / I'll support whoever gets the job / He knows the club I suppose' - I really don't recall anyone saying he was the out and out leading candidate or being over the moon about it.

My recollection is that most were content enough for him to see out 18-19 but then they wanted an upgrade. When he was appointed full time a couple tried to talk themselves into it not being a bad move.
