I think after Pedro the Rangers board realised just how far behind Celtic we were and that it would take a year's-long project to get on an even footing. Gerrard clearly sold his project to them and credit to the board for sticking with him to see it through. Celtic are nowhere near as far behind now as we were then, and are still comfortably better off commercially, but it looks like there's some serious squad rebuilding needing done. Too many players (and a manager) held on to for a season too long. A quality manager will make them compete next year while probably rebuilding the core of the squad over the next 2.

Bit of a bold statement

If Rangers play at the same level next season and go unbeaten then there’s not much Celtic can do about it

It would come down to OF games and if both sides are playing well there are no guarantees

Celtic’s next manager will have to hit the ground running and he might need a complete rebuild which takes time

First weekend there is a domestic cup final since May 2016 that Celtic haven’t been involved in. We’ve won every domestic trophy since then.

I don't think the shape or the players is the problem but the coaching.

Maybe a few weeks away from Lennon and JK doing more of what we did under Rodgers might help
