Newcastle today will face Willian Jose, a player that Benitez tried to sign for the geordies in 2017 and 2018

Looks like Jonny will have to play the full 90 minutes today as Marcal, the glass wingback is broken again.

Or maybe Ait-Nouri in the second half?

City have now won 14 successive Premier League games. Can we stop them making it 15

20 in a row in all competitions, so a win would be great, but I'd settle for a draw.

Hopefully we continue with our more positive approach today, looked much better the last three halves of football we have played. Should be beating Newcastle today if we play anywhere near our proper level.

Vid didn't work here. So the goal should have stood is the bottom line yes?

Seems as though the ref blew twice. He looks like a rabbit in headlights and totally out of his depth.

Ref Lee Mason completely lost the plot at the Hawthorns. Blew the whistle to allow Brighton to take a free kick. They scored but he blew his whistle a second time while the ball was on its way to the net. Nevertheless he gave the goal. But then after complaints from Albion he disallowed the goal and asked for the free kick to be taken again. Then after disallowing the goal he checked the monitor before disallowing it again.

Why did he need to check the monitor to see if he had blown his whistle? Didn’t he know?

's words are ringing like a bell now eh?
Lee Mason is not fit to referee in the Premier League. The end.
