IIRC Klopp called him a generational talent

I don't think we have overrated him we can only go on what we've seen so far and he is the first player since Anelka to score 10 or more goals in his first season as a teenager. Why Arteta is not playing him nobody knows accept Arteta but whatever that reason is he's wrong. He should be getting game time when consider some players have put in terrible performances and keep getting picked with Martinelli just sitting there.

Martinelli should be playing- I have NO IDEA what is going on...😐

I'm not really worried about Martinelli. He is a brilliant player who will become a regular for us. Don't forget Man Utd rejected him for Greenwood!!😂😂

Thank you!!

Martinelli is NOT overrated in any way. He is rated..based on his performances before injury. If he isn't fit, why is he on the bench??

Their mistake was missing out on Gabi full stop. Greenwood is high quality.

Greenwood is nowhere near Gabi's quality, trust me.

With Auba and Lacka in front of him in the pecking order, failing an injury to them he stands no chance of getting a start, just the odd few minutes, thats if Arteta gets leaned on from above

I am one of Gabi's biggest fans and he has massive potential but so does Greenwood to be honest, will be interesting to see who ends up the bigger player and how their careers pan out.

Hard to say if it’s right what’s going on or not. None of us know what his fitness is like, how he is in training and so on. Think fans are always impatient and want to see players like him become a star overnight. He’s still very young and has plenty of time, and we have plenty of games left this season. Maybe Arteta might end up giving him starts in a few games time, we’ve got some hard games coming up so perhaps he’s being cautious through those, then we’ll see him get a run of games after that. Think wait until season is done before judging how Arteta is using him, still lot of chance for him to get minutes

Exact, this is his comeback season from a really serious long-term injury, it's understandable to take it slow.

I suspect there have been some fitness concerns and maybe a niggle here and there and they haven't wanted to risk it, which would be understandable.

He was also subbed off against Man Utd because he wasn't following the instructions he was asked to by Arteta I recall.

After such a serious injury it's always going to take a player a bit of time before they are back to their best.

Fitness is the only other logical explanation but if that's the case why is he on the bench. I don't subscribe the the issue being not following instructions or not playing well in that game against United he had a decent game given the short amount of time he was afforded on the pitch.

Arteta & Coaches were shouting at him because he was not doing what was asked tactically, then he was subbed off.

If that is the case, truth is we don't what they were saying to him. In a game where it was tight I remember him almost setting up Laccazette with a great pass and helped out the defence with a last ditch block which stopped a goal so from what I remember certainly didn't deserve to go off with regards to performance level.

If it is fitness then it is sensible he’s being eased in. Maybe when he has played he’s had aching muscles and things next day. When you have a bad injury it does take time to be 100% even after injury has healed, have to strengthen other muscles and so on. We don’t want another wilshere situation with him, so if he’s not ready for regular 90mins then it’s sensible to hold him back. Arteta has spoke before about how he refuses to take risks with younger players fitness, so perhaps this is him being extra cautious. He might be at stage where he’s fit enough for 20mins, but more than that then it becomes a risk. There’s no way of knowing for sure. We’ll just have to see how it pans out this season

I think his usage next season will be much more telling.

Hope he has a good pre-season, I think like a lot of players, he needs one.

It is not just him though. Nelson, Martinelli, AMN, Guendo, Saliba and the list goes on. Maybe Arteta just doesn't want to rely on youth?
You could argue that if Saka wasn't already well established prior to Arteta arrival, he could have also be a victim.

It’s incredibly frustrating. For a club with limited funds like Arsenal, we should be doing all we can to develop our youth products and Arteta seems to have no interest in it whatsoever.

It’s the short termism attitude you’d associate with Maureen without the major trophies as a payoff

I think he is unfit but is on the bench because he can play some limited minutes. Perhaps Arteta has felt the situations in the game have meant he isn't needed.

If Arteta didn't rate him I think it's unlikely he'd have started all this games during the Xmas period.

Hopefully we see him soon more regularly
