The CB are not the issue , Phillips has been v good again , the problem is the finishing is not good enough and also the ball won’t run for us - not an excuse but for eg Curtis could have scored if the ball runs more kindly so many of our matches have been like this

Yes I'm happy enough with the defending considering what has happened. If anything this should be confirmation that Fabinho should go to midfield when he's back so we can have a proper midfield again.

Agreee. Philips looks like a competent defender abd certainly in my opinion better thab kabal atm.

The only way I can see him getting better is if he gets to grips with the pace of the PL. He's a yard off it at this level.

He could be a good option, although I think the £20m would be better served in investing in somebody of genuine quality in the summer if the club feels that's necessary.

Yeah that's true in fairness, that does seem to be the policy with a lot of players brought into the club and I'd happily keep him as a Matip/Lovren type player.

But if that was to deter a transfer for a higher quality CB (assuming he is signed for the £20m) then I'd rather the club go for the better CB.

Schuurs is a better defender than Kabak. More aggressive and quicker.
