When this is all over. Hopefully they will spend the same amount of money on a vaccine to combat Malaria. But I wouldn`t hold my breath, as it doesn`t affect most people in the Western World. Although it does kill millions in Africa.

Makes you wonder sometimes about the human race.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There IS a vaccine against Malaria.
And it is in use in Africa as we speak.

And for those who might be interested, I suppose Sandy might be, there is one hell of a lot of work ongoing into various approaches to Malaria vaccine development....

Spurs have been super unlucky with the timing of no fans just after they've built a new stadium. All teams obviously felt a huge impact but getting the bill for a stadoum and not being able to put fans in it is a nightmare scenario. Will have an impact I'm sure unfortunately

And the NFL money. We could have had a resident team by now.

One whole year out, will not not make that much difference to the sort of money the stadium will generate over the next 50 years or so.

Not that effective though Ted, hundreds of thousands still continue to die from malaria every year.

Point IS, contrary to your post, there is a lot of work going on in developing vaccines for Malaria.
A LOT!!
When I travelled thru Central America and the Amazon areas, I took loads of the Donald Trump drug, CloroQuine derivatives.
There were no vaccines whatever.
Also try the vaccine for Yellow fever!
They probably will refuse to give it to you because you are too old......it is a live virus drug.

With issues around new stains it's very possible the pandemic will be stopping football being attended next season too

This is my feeling. From around November time I expect to see larger events closed and some hospitality closed. I think it will get better with each winter but I don't think next season will be "normal".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think the only way it'll be fairly smooth sailing next season is if the UK somehow eliminated Covid locally in the way Australia/NZ etc have largely done but that means closed borders too. Not gonna happen realistically

Many countries won't be able to implement successful vaccine programs for a long time and it's likely variants will keep coming.

Well may be worth writing another letter to Levy to let him to not worry about the loan payments 😅

The loan payments will probably have been put on hold for a year, like all other businesses in the country, payments would have been deferred in the wake of the pandemic. I am sure Daniel Levy didn`t get where he was today, without knowing the ins and outs of financial dealings.

I assume those with house mortgages can if they so wish come up with a plan for deferred payments with their banks, or whoever their mortgage compny is. It will be no different for other businesses.

Oh, he knows the ins & Outs ok.
Its his pinch-penny attitude that's questionable.
Is his view of dealing for players the best for the squad, as a competitive body on the sports field, or is it best for the club as a financial profit-making concern for Lewis & Levy?
For the fans....best thing is for ENIC to sell out.

I don't think it's helpful to separate the club being financially secure with success on the field. It's no good doing a Portsmouth and going bust to win the FA Cup.

It's not Levy's fault we failed in all the cups over the years. We certainly had the squad to win trophies under Poch. And it's not like we don't pay top money on wages and transfers these days.

Obviously Levy isn't prefect but I think the main issue is that he's done so well in recent years he's raised expectations beyond what's realistic. And if we didn't have oligarchs and sheiks buying clubs as vanity projects people wouldn't be doubting him at all. IMO.

ATM the squad is making do with an old, not-very-competitive back four. The only members of which that would rate in any top 10 side are Toby Alderwiereld who is already past his use-by date and cannot play 2 games a week, and Reguilon, who will race back to Real Madrid as soon as they call his loan.
This is because Levy will not compete for top class players and instead buys second class, Sanchez, Rodon, Aurier, Doherty.
I will give you the deal for Ndombele as being an example of Levy arguing with himself and losing!
Of course, you can argue that Levy got his ass bitten when he plurged on rebuilding the stadium and then found it emptied by the pandemic.
But now, as the UK comes out of lock down, and fans come back to the stadia in limited quantities, the market for premium players will rebound.
Kane may well be off. And Son too.
We shall see how Levy's dealing with players and managers comes out of all this.

Sanchez cost 40m Ted. Sure enough he's not been great, but that's on whoever picked him, not the money paid.

Yeah there's no point discussing doom and gloom about what might happen maybe. The world's chit enough as it is with that.

A poor deal. Same with the wrong Fernandes!
And I'm sure you know who I think Levy should have been out for .......... Upamecano, or that class of player. Needed to give Harry Kane a basis upon which to hope for silverware.
Hard to find at any price, and not at a Levy price!

posted on 3/3/21

Upamecano wasn't realistic, Ted. And it wasn't the wrong Fernandes, it was Lo Celso or Fernandes. And we really shouldn't be writing him off yet.

We all want better players signed and we all have our opinions on who that should be but banging on about him being too tight for us to sign top players or whatever is just ballacks. As is any talk of Kane going.. he just won't in the summer.

posted on 3/3/21

Its a great pity because there are players in this squad who deserve to be winning the Premiership....
Kane, Son, NDombele, Hojbjerg, Alderwiereld, Reguilon, Lloris.
Of course Lloris has his world champions medal.

You mean Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes?
If so.....I'd have taken Bruno.
