We have the same problem and will never be in the running for Haaland or Kane but who else is out there that could take us to the next level?
Yeah...I've never subscribed to the notion that Haaland was ever an option, due to his agent (Raiola) who we've never had close or good relations with, has a big influence and dictates where his clients end up (usually based on what club can offer the most agent fee).
Tammy is good enough to lead the line, constantly improving but goes without saying that we need another CF to replace Giroud (and Werner hasn't produced the intended desired effect yet).
I used to make fun of Tammy a lot but I think he's become quite underrated
There is a slight nuance in whether we want a striker signed to play off Werner or a striker signed to replace Werner. Although Haaland would be fantastic and I’d be for the move I think he’d be best as a replacement for Werner, not to play with, particularly in this functional, possession based side Tuchel has played so far (who knows though he may change tactics next season).
If we are aiming for someone to play with Werner in this side I think a player like Firmino would be best. Someone who can both link up play with his back to goal/aerially, is a goal threat within their own right and also has that extra bit of agility, spontaneity in tight spaces that Mount and Werner perhaps lack. Although this is very hard to find in theory Havertz would actually fill the role well in theory. Edouard at Celtic also kind of fits this.
Anyway whether we want out and out goalscorer or a ‘link up’ striker to answer your question, alternatives to Haaland could be Lukaku, Icardi (still younger than I realise), Depay, Lautauro, DCL, Andre Silva, Plea. That Weghorst guy at Wolfsburg, Belotti, Edouard and M.Dembele
Broja is going well at Vitesse you’re right. I kind of doubt he’ll come straight back into the squad (we’ve never done that with any Vitesse loanee or when we have it hasn’t worked that I can remember), but one to watch. Batshuayi is also still on our books

True, I should've mentioned actually my prediction is that Havertz will play false 9 before the end of the season, I guess we'll see how well he does.
That's the thing, there are a lot of decent young-ish strikers out there but very few who you'd say; 'right, it's the 88th minute of the Champion's League, we're 1-0 down, this guy will get us the equaliser.'
Haaland might actually be the only young centre forward in the world right now who fits that particular bill.
Would be a great signing. But then again Werner and Havertz were supposed to be as well. So could go horribly wrong.

City not on much better terms with Raiola than we are I believe, mainly cos Guardiola can't stand him and vice versa. They also don't have a history of splashing huge sums on one player comparative to the state of the market. They could obviously, but it would be an exception to their rule.
In theory, I could see us trying to bait Raiola into a sort of mega pay off that includes Donnarumma on a free, sort of how we combined Jorginho's transfer fee in with Sarri's compensation, but even if that's taken by Raiola the likelihood of both players wanting to join us (let alone one) is probably slim.

Probably, feels like it would be such a mistake though to go there, especially aged 21.
A lot of people seem to think City but he'd be a pretty big departure from anyone they've had under Pep so far. Not to say they wouldn't adapt their style but I also wouldn't say it's an obvious fit.
Regarding alternative to Haaland.
An interesting one that does feel Chelsea'ish would be Alexander Isak. The original Scandinavian, 'next Zlatian' prodigy before Haaland who didn't cut it at Dortmund.
There's definite vibes there of our past approaches to the market moving for him in contrast to Haaland, thinking we're playing the system (e.g. we won't go for Fabinho, we'll take the clearly not as talented Bakayoko instead to prove how "smart" we are )

That’s a personal issue between Pep and Raiola, not a club/board problem.
City signed one of Raiola' clients shortly after the public bust-up, so relations can’t be that bad.
On top of that, City have a track record on business dealing with Raiola in the past (Balotelli springs to mind).
The club can clearly separate their feud when it comes to signings.
Long feud doesn’t extend further than between the two of them.
Halaand’ release clause of €75m (£68m) is in the ballpark that City are willing to do deals at.

Having watched him a few times this season, I would'nt be averse to getting hold of Izak, he is one player that has impressed me a lot...........but I did say that about Timo as well !
