Fans wanting the team to lose to sack the manager is just..... pathetic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No excuses today, but the same fans say the same chit after a win ffs😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to ask, what exactly are you seeing that we aren't?

Our football is crap.

Our defence is crap despite recent clean sheets

Our big games against top 6 are crap (1 goal scored from a pen + no wins)

Another semi final cup exit to add to others last season

We've been embarrassed by spurs, istanbul, leipzig, west brom, sheffield united, brighton, palace (x2). Probably others I've forgotten

We crashed out of the Champions League

We have 3 wins in our last 10 games (Fulham, Newcastle and the 10 men of southampton). Three 0-0's in a row.

So what exactly are you seeing that we aren't? Why aren't we allowed to criticise Ole? What "right direction" are you seeing? That we're second? Well we could be out of top 4 in a matter of weeks.

So at what point is it ok to criticise Ole in your book?

Apart from City every other club are having a mixed bag of results this season.

City have got such a quality squad that they chop and change almost every player week in week out to keep them fresh. Not only that their is no noticeable drop in performance when they change.

What other manager has that luxury?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And yet we spend similar amounts to City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How long has Pep been at City compared to Ole at United?

Also did Pep have a better squad to develop than Ole did?

Hey! Our supply teacher is young and sexy and unproven at least. Yours is old and weird looking and proven to be pretty bad.

And I agree, it's not always been great under Ole but it's a damn sight better now than it has been in any period post saf?

----------

No it isn't. Out of champions league in group stages, will finish 20 plus points behind 1st place. In a battle to finish a top 4. Rubbish football being served up.

What exactly are these significant improvements?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Better squad, better team ethic, better performances overall, we arent the 2nd highest scorers in the league by accident. Ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
in 17/18 we finished on 81 points, second in the table, Got to the quarters of the champions league.

No we haven't significantly improved since that season.

No the squad isn't significantly better after 200 mill investment since then, still full of mediocre players throughout the starting 11.

I just don't see what progress Ole has made He's spent around £250m so the any progress could be attributed to that.

I am not Ole out, just extremely fed up of him running the squad in to the ground yet again. We look tired and still so many games to come.

You're comparing Pep to ole lol... Ole is a nothing manager. His record before united suggests this, and his record at united suggests this. List the trophies Ole has won in his managerial career, then list Guardiolas.

Then shut up.

Progress has been made for me personally.. Look back through my posts and I've always said we are better now in all aspects than in any other season post SAF.. Ole may not be the man to win us things but we are certainly in better shape. I agree about the overuse of players. It frustrates me too

The worst mistakes Ole has made are his transfers.

We'll never win anything major with Maguire and AWB in defence

VDB although injured today, has been a pariah and completely mismanaged.

I don't see it progress made Clevs. The football is pretty bad.

We have 10-12 games a season where we look great, then it falls apart.

The signings, the football, the team selection all leaves a lot to be desired.

Just my opinion but when Ole came in here talked about attacking intent and identity.

We look more like a Jose team than we do a SAF team.

Firstly it wasn't a "poor showing" it was a normal or usual one. Sometimes they get away with it, sometimes they don't, sometimes it's a draw.

Secondly, if McTominay starting is a solution then the issues are probably unsolvable.

Agreed about greenwood not starting, but then nor should rashford - but both of those are part of the much bigger problems.

Taking Cavani off = not clever (unless it's an age/fitness issue).

Taking fred off = not clever, especially when there were less effective players left out there, and was he replaced by another lesser player.

It's a clearly a weak squad issue. No point in blaming the manager. The club is responsible for buying and selling.

I gotta say that im.an.sick if watching this crap week in week out.. we aint good enough and it's gonna take at least 3 years to be good. And sorry ole hasn't improved us much, bruno improved us but now he's not firing and we are back to being dross. I'm not blaming bruno but he needs better quality around him. Rashford aint gonna be world class, doesn't look like greenwood will be either. Martial wants to be gone imo. There's a major rebuild required.

Firstly, it is these sort of articles that makes this place toxic. We get it, you support Ole being in management, others differ and this is cool too.

My take is as you have alluded to, the manager has done a fantastic job in terms of building good team camaraderie and also improving some aspects of this team no doubt. Any man and his dog would've guess Ole will create a good team environment.

What I want to ask here though is.... can it also be the case this is as far as Ole can take us? Ole in my opinion is not beating Guardiola to no league title if they competed for 25 years. Is it actually wrong to say thank you but we must move on?

---

Onlt the end of the season positions mean anything. We could be out of top 4 in the next few games including a tough game at the weekend.

If Ole finishes 2nd then great. I'll shut up.

Right now it looks like it will be a top 4 battle. Our form, performances and squad fitness is all pretty bad right now.

No I don't believe we should be above City.

Do I believe we had a good enough team to get past the group stages of the champions league, yes.

Do I believe we have a good enough squad, where we shouldn't have gone from being above City, to 14 behind them over the space of 9-10 games, yes.

Do I believe Ole, after having 250 mill to spend, has shaped up a team that looks like it might challenge, not win, just challenge for a title in the next couple of years, no I don't.

Do I believe Ole has ever shown the quality to manager a club like United, No I don't.

He doesn't win trophies, he doesn't play entertaining football, and hundreds of millions have been invested. It's time to go.

.............................................................................

I believe this squad should be near. Not everything is black and white. How we dropped points against the likes of Everton last minute is the reason why we are so far from them. Can you imagine Pep with a 25 goals a season striker?? What hope do we have.

Nothing wrong with that at all Scholay. You know my point. We talked this a million times. He may not be the man to take us to the next step but will leave us better for who may take over. What I will always stand up for is the daft insults after a poor result. Its tiresome and he's as high as can be in the league unless we should be above City, still in the fa Cup and cruised the europa (yes he made mistakes to get there) but fml, people are behaving like we are the current champions and languishing in 6th. Weve already got that t shirt 😂

Completely in agreement with this. It is the reason I am hardly here these days, I do think it is ridiculous that after every game we fail to get a result he is attacked. The opinions that concentrate on our style of play however are very valid. It has been said here that this is a team of moments and once these moments dry up we will struggle. It is sad to say but it appears this is the case now, the moments have dried up.
