Three points don't look too shabby

Bloody annoying that we have such a rubbish record against the teams around us. Losses to Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham in recent weeks

Plus Liverpool and Leicester just before Christmas

If we’d won a few of those matches I’d have made us favourites for top 4. Will be tough as it stands.

Yes, but if you analysed the games, you'd see we lost by fine margins against Liverpool, a game where we should have won and a few games we dropped points when we should have got more. Against Leicester, they defended with low block, and got ahead courtesy of a gifted pen right on the stroke of HT.

Mistakes, and fine margins.

Losing by fine margins is irrelevant. It’s no consolation whatsoever

We’ve won most of our game by fine margins too.

To be fair, there have been few games this season where we have won and not really deserved to have taken 3 points. If we have played poorly (don't confuse poor play with broing!) then we have usually dropped points.

Games such as Liverpool (a) Newcastle (h) WHU (H&A) have all deserved more than we got.

Spurs still have it in their own hands to a certain extent, still have to play Leicester, Man United and Everton this season. Need to win at least two of those games.

We're joint 9th, with Aston Villa.
At one time we were first!
We're not going above 6th place by the end.
That with a team that contains Kane, Son, Ndomebele, Bale, Delli Alli, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Alderwiereld, and Lloris.

How on earth did this disaster happen?

How about that stupid hand ball ruling that saved us?

Blimey Ted, you wave the white flag easily. Spurs are above Villa, so are not joint 9th. Also if they win their game in hand on Chelsea, they go within two points of 4th place.

So still all to play for.

As I said....we lucked out.
Not a commanding performance to build confidence on.
The back four are the problem, when Davies plays Toby is the only decent member.

The back four have kept three clean sheets in a row in two different competitions. It isn't quite as bad as it is made out to be. Practically all bar three of the Prem teams have leaked more goals.

You need to look at who is in the back four....usually Reguilon.
And as for yesterday's "clean sheet", it was saved by a stupid hand ball ruling that is now being suspended by the FA, and some really unusual luck, backed up by a great save by Lloris.
It was a "clean luck"!

Doherty, Sanchez, Alderwiereld, Davies
is a recipe for disaster even when playing a relegation bound team. Toby is the only reliable player in that mix.
