The luck of the VAR

Its the handball law thats ridiculous not VAR per se.
Leeds have done well. Just need to add a little quality next season not too many signings 2 or 3 then next season you can progress. Second season is the killer thats why strengthening without disrupting is important.

Why does this handball law exist at all? That's right. VAR.

Leeds have done alright but that play style was never going to hold up in the Premier League, not unless you've got a squad like Liverpool.. and they're fuct after a couple of years doing it. Fun to watch, though

European leagues have for a while adopted the rule that any handball in the build up to a goal is always handball and the goal doesn't stand and UEFA wanted us inline with them. Not really related to VAR although VAR makes it easier to apply.

We've done alright? We're 1 point from Arsenal with pretty much the same championship squad that finished 14th a few years ago. I think we've done better than alright considering we've taken every game to our opponents. Next season with a few more top quality additions I fully expect us to chase a European place.

I'm sure even Spurs fans think it is a ridiculous rule, but it is a rule and VAR has to give it.
Spurs had one last season where a player was tripped, the ball hit his hand when he fell and went to a Spurs player to score. Not only was the goal ruled out, the foul that led to the accidental handball wasn't given and the free kick went to the opposition.

Plus we play nothing like Liverpool. If you can compare any team to how we play then it’s got to be Man City. Press, pass, move, possession, play out from the back. The huge difference is how much they can spend on players compared to us.

We’ve done fantastic this season and safety is almost assured now.

Tell me of a team who have come up with a squad that, basically two seasons ago, was 3/4 the same and have only had less possession than two teams theyhave played? (Leicester and Southampton). A team that doesn’t keep possession to run games down or defend but uses it to attack at every opportunity. Yes we get caught out by teams who have better quality than us but to say we’ve done “alright” is an insult to Bielsa and his players.

The cheek of a Spurs fan saying we have just done 'alright' when they are just above us having spent gazillions on players!

Yeah cant stand VAR. You can barely celebrate a goal now in case it goes to VAR. Its taking away the enjoyment.

That’s because we (Spurs) have massively underperformed. I mean we have seen Wolves come up and qualify for Europe and Sheff United just miss out - both are floundering this season. Leeds have done alright though - they do look like they are running out of steam now like all Bielsa sides

The Fulham one a joke, his arm was by his side and it didn't move. The Werner one was equally ridiculous, his arm was outstretched cos he running
Haven't seen the WBA one

The rules are a joke and VAR needs to stay out of margin marginal decisions.

How are we running out of steam? If anything we've improved as the season has gone on, we've been missing 3 key players for weeks too.

see, this has all come about, with far too many moaning about what they perceive as bad decisions

careful what you wish for

Have really admired Fulham in recent weeks as they are really making a fight of it but have to admit the result was to our favour. - Still think Fulham may escape the drop though.

If they had bit of composure and finishing, I am sure they would have got something from yesterday.

Fulham pushed Spurs back all the way to our box, and we couldn't find any way out, and our best players including Kane, had to use time wasting in the end to hang on.

Another Karen regurgitating rubbish!

It's a myth that we run out of steam. Before lockdown last season we were flying. The season before we just ran out of luck and made some bad decisions on the pitch.

Looking at Spurs last night I'd say your team looked like one devoid of ideas and energy. Fulham pummelled you at times.

oh dear oh dear, you do realise they have removed the word 'gullible' from the english dictionary, don't you?

Think they may have left it too late in my opinion, playing good stuff but not getting the points. Their next two games are Liverpool and city plus they still have Chelsea, united and arsenal to play -all away from home.
That said, their last game is at home to Newcastle so that could be a cracker if results do go their way

Fulham have played some good stuff all season they just haven’t been able to turn into results. Brighton even more so.

Everton and to a lesser degree spurs have frequently got results in games where their play maybe didn’t warrant it. Often this is just down to quality in key areas at both ends of the pitch and sometimes it’s a bit of lady Luck.

think id rather b!tch about the refs than var.
var calls things that don't effect the play at all or things that give the offending team no advantage.i would much rather go back to the day when we would complain about the ref.
seems better to me to blame human error and be done with it then trying to figure out way var even bothers with some of the sh!t it gives.
var has made the game worse imo for many reasons.

Is it Fulham that missed a good amount of penalties?

Yep but we won. We are obviously very tired as we have played more games than any other team in European top flight football this season, so there are going to be games where we just dig in to secure the result.

Anyone who can read and understands stats knows Bielsa sides run out of steam. 3 wins from your 12 games max

They had a run earlier on in the season where they missed a few... an injury time panenka fail springs to mind - missed cost them a few points I think.

"Bielsa sides run out of steam. 3 wins from your 12 games max"

OK Statto - statistics - last season won EFL Championship by 10 clear points - 46 games.

This season key injuries to 3 of the 4 'better' quality intake i.e. non championship players.

No our team has done brilliant in the circumstances.

We don't care how many we win now as long as we don't finish lower than 17th.

You see LUFC has real fans not glory seekers.
