I took him out of FF long ago

Well, I think we all know he’s injured but in the spirit of debate -

Burnley, marked the first time that Vardy had 3 consecutive starts without a goal or an assist.

Prior to injury, he went know more than one PL game without scoring and/or assisting and prior to the first injury issue, I believe scored/and or assisted in 10 out of 13 games (this is without analysing where a dummy run created/led to a goal).

*no more

I agree. For me the best option would be for Vards to sustain an injury which ends his playing career, not serious for his day to day life but just enough to take him off the playing pitch. That way he would end his career on a high and not "limp to a degrading embarrassment".
He will go on to be a legend and of course can go on to have a role with the club in several ways. What an inspiration he would be to the younger players.

Can’t agree with this.. he has gone through spells before of looking like he’s lost pace / not scoring etc I wouldn’t want him to get career ending injury to stop him proving people wrong again

but I’m being unusually optimistic.. reckon he will score tonight

I’ve said this for a while now - Pereira and Vardy are costing us points and it’s like playing with 9 men. Until they are able to influence a game, I’d rather see Albrighton and Iheanacho given the chance.

Got to be honest, I thought I’d get slaughtered for this post and still might, but of course would love him to kick on again, I know we’re down to the bare bones of a squad due to injuries and sadly that prevents us from resting him for an extended period of time

Let’s be clear AFV - we all want to see the Pereira and Vardy we know as two of our stand out top class players.

Let’s just hope it’s a case of them working back up to fitness rather than them being done.

Rodgers seems to think Vardy has a couple more years in him I managed properly which I’m confident of. Pereira makes me nervous though as to whether we’ll ever see the same player again.

Think you’re being a tad harsh on Ricardo. He hasn’t even had enough match time to be considered fully match fit let alone find form....so to even consider scrutinising his form and compare it seems extremely critical. This is without taking into his account how many minutes he’s actually played in his primary position of RB.

Vardy Just being on the pitch helps the team, he created the goal for Ian the other night just by taking a few steps away and creating the space by taking the defender with him.

If that' all he did in that game it was worth it.

I’m not being harsh, I’m being worried!

I think suggesting he is costing us points and it is basically playing with a player less is quite harsh

Well “degrading embarassment” is a ridiculous over reaction. Vardy has always been a ‘streaky’ type of player with runs of poor form followed by goals every game.

He’s had a hernia op and lost form and fitness. Ideally we’d be resting him now and hoping to build him up on the training ground. The problem is we haven’t had that luxury with so many injured players and I’m still not convinced that Ian provides a reliable alternative.

We knew the day would come when we had to start managing Vardy out of the side. Puel started to do it prematurely, but we’ve been too reliant on him for too long now. Ideally we’ll invest on his successor or successors in the summer and Vardy will become an impact player or rotated in. He needs to be playing once a week now.

But he’s earned a bit of patience before we all write him off for the umpteenth time

I guess my point is that Albrighton would offer a lot more currently.

Lack of rest this season has cost vardy,,
He gave up England to get the extra rest in a normal season,
His fitness was always going to be a thing
Even without an injury to recover from
Which he obviously hasn't,,
Brendon telling him not to play his normal game
Is probably to save the impact on his body,,

Just having on the pitch makes defenders second guess what hes going to do, which helps others get space,,
Nachos goal is a prime example

I recall seeing him defending Burnley corner, I thought to myself if he were near the halfway line, but in our half he'd take at least two, maybe three players with him. That's not a criticism, just a thought

We've been playing two games a week for as long as I can remember. From now on we just play at weekends (apart from Man U away on a Tuesday in May), with an international break coming up, giving Jamie a couple of weeks off. Hopefully we can manage all injuries a bit better with more time between playing.

Albrighton should definitely start. Ricardo should be played in his usual position so that we don’t have this dilemma to even consider
