Celtic no longer have £30m swishing around in their bank account. In case anyone needs reminding we are running at a loss.
As to the season; the majority of fans could see the signs from the season before but we could get away with it because the bears were just too sheite to do anything about it. Even when they looked like they might threaten it was a brief and transitory couple of weeks before they imploded.
We did the usual and took the cheap easy option and this time it was appointing Lennon. If anyone is to blame it’s fairly and squarely at the door of the boardroom.
When anything can’t get much worse as in Rangers case it takes not too much to get it going, instil some belief and improve it. When things can’t go any better than expected as was in our case, the foot is taken off the gas and you’re quickly caught up with. It’s not like we’ve loads of previous is it?
Football’s finances will have been battered over the past couple of seasons and nobody is exempt. Interesting times ahead.

As has been said by many, and me repeatedly, ultimately THE biggest own goal was giving Lenny the gig permanently. Nearly all of us could see this car crash coming, even if none of us expected it to be quite this dramatic. IMO the league was effectively gone the day we conceded a second daft penalty in injury time to draw 3-3 at Pittodrie way back in November ... the Board needed to act swiftly after that, but either couldn't see what everybody else could, or just couldn't be ersed as that would have involved some effort to find a replacement.
BTW, did I read correctly at the weekend that Eddy, Ajer and Christie are ALL going into the last year of their contracts in the summer? How the fook has that been allowed to happen? Yet another, very expensive, dereliction of duty there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the day in October when the delayed Old Firm match was played at Parkheed , no shots on target was the day he should have been sacked but the warning signs were in the Feranchvaros tie , glaring
The only reason he stayed so long was there was no money to sack him and bring in a suitable replacement and money to strengthen

Costello?!
having seen who we got instead of hayes i'm not sure we done much better
lennon took players who should be good, gave them no information, no tactics, no guidance, and just hoped they would win games.
its like wee guys playing football manager, i have Ronaldo, messi, lewandowski, aguero, haalland, werner, immobile, and suarez.
i'll put two up front and dot the rest about the team, i have the best players so i should win.
no tactics or anything.
he's a pwrick.
we needed wingers but that aside i think our business in the window was good.
we made two major error since appointing Rodgers, the first was not allowing him to make his own signings, he wants castagne and we're like "here is a wee guy called shved".
the second was the laziness in appointing his successor, it was nothing short of "he'll just do" - that was it, no more, no less.
Absolutely f... all effort.
Aside from anything Hayes leaving led to a massive crisis of confidence for Griff - suddenly he found himself the ugliest player in the squad and everyone ripping the proverbial.

Aye, no tactics, plus poor coaching and fitness work. What could go wrong?!!
BTW, I keep reading/hearing that "Kennedy is highly rated as a coach" ... By whom? And based on what? As an ex-CB, you would like to think at the very least he could organise and coach a back 4 ... zero evidence to support that.
I don't blame kennedy tbh, what a cooshty number he has.
guy leaves, promotion.
guy gets sacked, promotion.
he's a baw hair of lawwells job.

"As has been said by many, and me repeatedly, ultimately THE biggest own goal was giving Lenny the gig permanently. Nearly all of us could see this car crash coming, even if none of us expected it to be quite this dramatic."
Even Rangers fans could see it and were really hoping he would get the job and were delighted when he did.
I still thought that DD's chequebook would still make sure Celtic won the league but that didn't work either.

A lot of his business interests are struggling in the pandemic , Celtic are a play thing to him, not his main priority

having seen who we got instead of hayes i'm not sure we done much better
lennon took players who should be good, gave them no information, no tactics, no guidance, and just hoped they would win games.
its like wee guys playing football manager, i have Ronaldo, messi, lewandowski, aguero, haalland, werner, immobile, and suarez.
i'll put two up front and dot the rest about the team, i have the best players so i should win.
no tactics or anything.

we needed wingers but that aside i think our business in the window was good.
we made two major error since appointing Rodgers, the first was not allowing him to make his own signings, he wants castagne and we're like "here is a wee guy called shved".
the second was the laziness in appointing his successor, it was nothing short of "he'll just do" - that was it, no more, no less.
Absolutely f... all effort.
