Nice Bute. Don't feck with Pelicans

Amazing to watch that osprey working hard to lift that large fish from the water. We have ospreys nesting here, and they're usually carrying pike, but not quite as large as that fish was.

Yeah special birds.

I'm sure Mir will stay in Spain, as I don't think he'll get regular football with us. Shame really

I guess one way to look at it would be to se if we can squeeze more money out of him later? Having him here next season will likely stall his development/progress but if we could offer him an extension and then loan him to Spain again, probably to a better top flight club he could increase his value. Or of course this might be as good as it gets and we need to cash in this summer, who the feck knows.

He cost about 1.8m when he signed from Valencia B in 2018. Huesca are in danger of being relegated after he helped them get promoted last season. I'm not sure we'd get more than 2m for him.

Would be amazed if the agreed fee is anything less than 5 million. For them to want to purchase it would mean he has been a success and we wouldn't have put that at 2 million for a very highly rated young forward.

A few sites claiming Real Madrid are interested in him as recently as February and they have been linked for a few years and allegedly wanted him when we signed him. Apparently valued at 5 million on transfermarkt right now.

Read somebody say its a 10 million fee but that is likely too high. If Huesca go down I can't see them signing him or indeed him wanting to go to them anyway.

We would be silly not to bring him back and give him another chance

I think he has more potential than Bonatini but I can't see Nuno giving him another chance.
Probably do a Benik Afobe with him, get him back, give him a new contract and flog him 2 weeks later.

I would like to see Mir get some games with us pre season. Could save us a few million in buying another centre forward to give us an alternative to Raul. But I suspect the player would rather remain in Spain where he is likely to get a move to a decent La Liga team. Wolves need to decide whether to cash in now or get him another loan. Either way he’s certainly done enough to increase his value well above £2m

Daniel Podence has not yet returned to training so may not even be ready to return after the international break

While we are playing against Liverpool at Molineux, Rafa Mir will be playing against Barcelona in the Camp Nou

Yesterday, L2 Salford beat Kenny Jackett's Portsmouth on pens. in the 2020 EFL Trophy final.

Sunderland (minus Dion Sanderson) take on Tranmere in today's 2021 EFL Trophy final.

I'll record the Barca game and watch it after ours.

Seems strange. Just 2 points off the playoffs and 10 points behind the top 2

Only won one of their last 7 league games so I guess they thought he was losing the plot

Jesus bit harsh that, one win in seven isn't great but hardly sackable.

The reason why? I see absolutely no justification for sacking the guy when he has lost 5, won 1, drawn one in his last 7 league games. In his previous 7 he won 4, lost 2, drew 1.
Liverpool have lost 6, won 1 of their last 7 league games but I don't hear anyone calling for Klopp's head.
Strikes me as a pure knee jerk reaction to a run of poor results. A ridiculous decision in my opinion.

Yeah for sure. Seven games is barely a month, quite different to a three or four month slump. Hope Pompey fail miserably in the run in.

They should be careful what they wish for. It's only March and still a lot of games, and points to play for. That's both Lambert and Jackett sacked this month.

I wonder if we could tempt Doherty back...

If we could swap him for Semedo and pocket 25 million that would be great business.

My neighbour is a Pompey fan and was fed up with Kenny for years, he did a job for us when we needed it at a lower level for sure

This break between games has been longer than our pre season.

Some strange decisions by boardrooms this weekend, really surprised Wilder hasn't been given the chance to bring Sheff U back, Norwich and Burnley stood by their men and its worked out multiple promotions without hardly spending a penny of the premier league cash.

And not many gaffers can have led a side out at Wembley one day and got sacked the next. Jackett was out of action for some of the recent bad run too.
