Always said there’s only ever one good reason to change manager and that’s to bring in someone better. Ipswich and Ireland failed miserably on that principle when they replaced Mick and Wolves actually failed with their next three appointments by bringing in Connor, Solbakken and Saunders

Maybe Cardiff will learn from previous clubs' mistakes.

They may follow APOELs lead, results improved for them after sacking Mick early this year

Albanian geezer had just come on against England wearing a full on plastic helmet or so it looks.

The headband thing Raul was wearing in training is much more lightweight than this thing, looks like a cycle helmet.

Prefer Messi, but not a bad replacement for Dave Edwards

Don't know who this Vitanha feller is that you keep mentioning but I would love to see Vitinha start

Half time sub sees Trincao of Barcelona come on. A player that is being linked with us

Portugal one up midway through the second half, and they have been the better team. Very good assist from Goncalves

Portugal beat England 2-0 and were much the better team. Goncalves probably man of the match but Vitinha and Trincao, who got the second front the spot, also very impressive.

Portugal must stand a chance of winning the tournament with Switzerland evidently the other team impressing

I see Wilfred Boly started at CB for Cote d'Ivoire the other day in their 3-0 win

Vitinha generally looks excellent whenever he plays centre midfield for Portugal U21s and has looked decent whenever he has played deeper for us in the limited opportunities he has had there. I expect Nuno will have watched that last night and decided he deserves 20 minutes on the wing in our next game.

Can’t say I’ve been impressed by Vitunha in his games for Wolves so far but he did look good last night. I’m sure like Silva there will be many who won’t like us spending millions on a player for the future but I would be tempted to invest in him from what I’ve seen in this tournament.

Also impressed by Trincao of Barcelona who we have been linked with and who Barca are evidently prepared to sell to raise money for new signings

If we sign him we will never get his name on the signing on forms, its in full,

Francisco Antonio Machado Mota Castro Trincao.

Quite impressive.

Seven years today since 10K2MK and all that polava. Great day, ordinary game. Without realising the anniversary was coming up I was reminded of the day on Saturday when I noticed Liam McAlinden had scored for Morecambe. Caught my attention because the guy on SSN gave his name a really strange pronunciation.

Remember that day at MK. Caught a train to a station a couple of miles from the stadium on the basis that their website had said there was a bus every ten minutes from there to the ground. No such bus existed so me and a group of other wolves fans spent half an hour trying to find a taxi and then with the heavy traffic we ended up arriving 5 minutes after kick off

Picture on social media doing the rounds over the weekend, a smiling Ronaldo with his arm around Moutinho with the caption ...so, tell me more about this "Mander Centre"...

I was down that way with work in the week before the match and having volunteered to drive, did a bit of a recce to find somewhere within walking distance of the ground to park where there were no apparent restrictions. Of course as we got to my well researched spot, the grumbles of "bloody hell cant we get any closer, whats this are there flights to MK from here or what?" grew louder from the passenger seats. So remarkably we ended up parking just outside the retail park which surrounded the stadium, and because no one else had been daft enough to attempt so bloody close, without unduly rushing we got away after the game pretty sharpish too.

Remember when we got back in the car, picking up Radio WM and hearing about Saido Berahino get smacked by a team mate after their game in the dressing room for trying to score an unlikely stoppage time goal rather than taking it in to the corner and killing the game off. His mistake ended up costing the Albion a point or possibly three as the opposition scored from the possession he conceded. Kinda rounded the day off nicely.

If you had that on the back of a shirt it would have to run along both arms too.

Meanwhile, sport goes on in Iceland...

We aren't get the best out of Vitonha. Whether that's due to playing him out of position or not I don't know.

Nuno does seem to give up on some players very quickly, but perseveres with others far longer than one would think.

Some good play there in Iceland. Looks like the stadium was erupting

Story in the media today that Mendes is working on a deal to bring Trincao from Barca to Wolves. He cost them £30m but evidently could be available for £20m as they need to raise funds for transfers. He looked impressive for the Portugal U21s last night so nice to think that was true. Reports say the deal was almost certain, but we’ll take that with a pinch of salt for now
