It could happen. The League is won. The League Cup is virtually in the cabinet, given the toxic state of your opponent in the final. United, Leicester or Chelsea could give you problems in the FA Cup, though City would still justifiably be favourites against any of those sides.

I think the CL will be the toughest. The mental side of having never won it or even reached the final could play a role. But even without that, you'd still have to beat Bayern or PSG, then potentially a Liverpool side that it's not impossible could have VVD back if they reach the final. Chelsea wouldn't be an easy opponent either

The CL is without doubt the biggest hurdle. The only one of the four we haven’t won.

Thought it would happen in 2019 and it didn’t. I’ll believe it will happen this year till it can’t.

I’d say this is as good as any year you’re likely to get.

A lot of teams are weaker than typically you come up against both in the latter stages of domestic cups but also the CL. I’d say only Bayern could/should match you lot and normally there’s stiffer competition than that.

The only people I hear mentioning the Quad are in the media.

The old 'Build them up to knock them down' ploy.

I'd be shocked if you didn't win the domestic treble due to the depth of squad available by comparison to other PL sides. The CL is a different matter. This is the only competition where other sides have a similar spending power to City, so this is where you should be measured. Let's see come May.

At least we'll lose the favourites tag if we get through to the semis and face Bayern.

posted on 20/3/21

I reckon it will either be the BIG double or the domestic treble.

Probably the latter.

If we beat Spurs in the CC Final, United in the FA Cup Final and Liverpool in the CL Final I'd probably give up on professional football.

It just couldn't get any better.

The domestic treble will be secured.

But Bayern are just ridiculous atm. They won 4-0 today despite playing the entire game with 10 men. Bayern or maybe PSG or Real will win the UCL.

We've played Bayern 6 times in recent years.

W3 L3, they are not invincible.

It will be the quarter finals again for Man City in the CL. The other cups, who cares.

Can we go one step further and win the domestic treble plus the European cup?

If it’s any time it’s now. The big guns aren’t at the races at least with real (barca already gone), bayern who looked unbeatable last season have chinks in their armour this term.

But you do have a spurseyness in the biggest comp. it’s between you and Bayern in my book, Liverpool look very vulnerable but have an ability to step up in this arena, Chelsea look decent and stable but aren’t as good as the the big guns left in competition and I suspect will need2012 levels of fluke to win, but it’s happened so..

Wouldn’t get your hopes up.

No one's ever invincible in football (the margins are too fine) but they look too much atm.

They're a different beast to when you played them before.

Since you last played them, Gnabry, Davies & Goretzka have emerged and Muller/Neuer/Boateng etc. have found their best form. Lewa has 35 goals in 25 league games. Plus they took one of your best players in Sane.

I think PSG could beat them if Neymar & Mbappe play well, and Real could beat them because they have a 'deal with the Devil' in the UCL. Can't see anyone else winning it.

I highly doubt it still, it’s something that’s never been done for a reason and I think we’re slightly short to win all four. If this current team had a peak Aguero then I’d think it.

Just being able to have this conversation this late into the season is the most pleasing thing for me though and the idea that a domestic treble, something as you say never been done before until we did it, could be par for the course is mad.

Would be great if Sane scored the goal that knocks City out.

There’s no deal. They’ve generally been the best when thryve won it. Not this season though, they look a shadow..

bayern are a pale imitation of their team of last season, unsurprisingly, given that they have lost the world class pointing abilities of thiago

Yeah, I think Liverpool, for all their struggles, will comfortably dispatch of Real. They're starting to get players back now and their front three will likely do serious damage. Real aren't prolific enough to respond imo

They've only won the league and UCL in the same season once since 1958 (in 2017; when they scored multiple off-side goals vs Bayern in overtime).

Off the top of my head, I remember them winning the UCL after placing 5th in the league in 2000, and 3rd in 2014 when Ramos scored that 93rd min equaliser to force overtime. If you're not winning the league, you're not the best.

Liverpool just lost 6-straight home games and didn't score a non-penalty goal.

They're not beating Real in the UCL.

Especially given that Real's form has picked up a lot in recent weeks. Their defence and midfield are levels above Liverpool's .

I’d put money on pool. This real are a tiny shadow of the team from a a few years ago. I’ll be amazed if they reach the final. Cities or Bayern’s to lose, but I’m not counting out Chelsea, because if any team has the luck of the Antichrist, it’s them, as proved in 2012. Solid without looking anywhere near as good as city or Bayern, they might have a chance- and they do very well in chance.

Yeah we'll come back to this after the tie is over.

I bet Hazard will have his first good game for Real in that tie, or Vinicius will actually score, or Allison will pull a Karius. We'll see.
