The way I feel now, I still want him gone if we secure a top four finish and win the Mickey Mouse Cup.

no way hes sacked and sadly rightly so if he somewhow won the league cup and got top 4 which would be some turn around.
no CL next season and no trophy hes gone. if he just gets the league cup and top 6, i dont know but my preference would be to get rid, he isnt one for a rebuild.

I'm with you Don. Under normal circumstances we'd be ecstatic with a cup and a top four finish but under Jose it just smacks of treading water and hoping your world class players pull you out of a hole. It's similar to Bale under AVB. We played some turgid football but Bale's performances flattered the manager in the same way Kane is now.
It sounds harsh if he does achieve those things but I'd like him gone in the summer so that we can build a team not so heavily reliant on one or two players. I want a plan, an identity, a manager young players want to play for. Not someone that stifles creativity, divides dressing rooms and blames everyone publicly but himself. We need a manager with a long term plan and the club itself needs a long term vision. I thought we had that under Poch but Levy did a major u-turn by bringing in Jose and, as expected, it's proven to be a mistake.
Move on regardless.

That’s my point mate. I think most would still want him gone, but understandably would agree he should keep his job. That being said, Top 4 and the league cup isn’t happening
To achieve top 4i think we will likely have to W7 D2 L0 of our last 9 games.
If we did that, off the back off our current W4L1D0, then that is pretty mighty form which would at least indicate we are doing something very right (Overall W11 L1 D2)
Top 4 and win the league cup = he has absolutely earned the opportunity to bore us for another season
Top 4 and no cup = probably should keep his job but by the finest of margins
Top 6 and win the cup = as above, just about hanging on
Anything below that (which is the most likely in my opinion) = get rid as quickly as possible.

aside from Jose’s tactics what shocks me is how long it takes him to identify how useless Davies, Sissoko, Winks and Dier have been. His blind faith in key games has cost him and us so much. I am a little more optimistic if he keeps the team that started against Villa as our starting lining up until Son returns for Vinicius.
Our forward line is actually doing well. We have had loads of different scorers.
If that did happen then on the face of it he couldn't really be sacked.
For me it would depend on how he got top 4. Say we get 70 points and play well throughout then he would have earned another season.
If everyone around us also collapses and we miraculously come 4th with say 62 points then he still has to go.
So for me barring a near perfect end to the season I think he needs to go.

You know i typed almost the exact same thing before, uncharacteristically, shortening my comment. 22+ pts puts us in the mix (Leicester & Chelsea having other cups too as a distraction) and 22 pts from 9 games would be 36 pts from our last 42, which is strong.

I have to agree with this. If Jose were to get top 4 and a league cup, he’s simply our most successful premier league manager. But, he was also United’s most successful manager since Fergie and still is. His style of football and the toxic atmosphere he always seems to leave a club in is a big problem as it could go t** up anytime. That being said, Top 4 and a league cup is a successful season
If we finish top 4 plus win the League cup how could anyone reasonably ask for him to be sacked?!!
That would represent our best achievement for many a year with any a manager.
However, it's very unlikely to happen, so we won't have the dilemma!
