I was watching that “the kick off” show with true Geordie on YouTube. And they said how good awb has been for Utd and it confirmed what I already thought. That they know fack all about players and the current state of football. Don’t get me started on that mug Rory Jennings who refused to give tuchel any credit for going unbeaten for his first 10 games as manager.
I completely agree with you regarding AWB, I sent my Utd mates the clip where they said he was having a good season and they were having kittens.
The guy is fantastic one on one, maybe the best in the league now azpilicueta has regressed a bit.
He’s strong, good in the tackle, and rarely goes to ground.
HOWEVER, positionally he’s awful, lots of goals come from his side where he’s there or there about, he switches off from crosses a lot and let’s runners get in behind him a lot. He’s also rubbish going forward. He’s not a very good player
I think in the modern game you can not afford to have a player in the team that can not do anything with the ball, especially in the key offensive area of wing back.
if we had the best right winger in the world, you could maybe think about it, but currently he looks like a another disastrous signing. i wouldn't mind him being kept as a back up for when we need to park the bus though, his tackling is good.

I think Tuchel has been great so far. He has shored your defense which clearly has good individuals that Lampard couldn't get the best out of.
I never understood why fellow United fans here as well on other social media like reddit, twitter think he is good. He has some good qualities but overall has a lot to imrpove. I would take Reece James from your hands asap
World class defender 1 vs 1. The amount of times he has pocketed Sterling is laughable. Definitely a player there.
Bar 1 vs 1 though, he really is dreadful at most other aspects of a modern day fullback. He cannot attack, his positioning at most times is abysmal. In saying all this, I won't go as far as say we should get rid of him, I believe if we can get a competent right winger who can get to the byline and deliver good crosses, I will happily keep him.

Couldn't have put it better. However if we receive a 40-45m bid for him would you be tempted to sell?
Sign another defender like Telles, but better, and he either ups his game like Shaw has or becomes 2nd choice.
40-45m for a player not rated and wanting to be offloaded by his club. Not sure. Saw him before he joined you playing for Fulham, looked a real prospect. That doesn't always mean they develop into the real deal at prem level mind. Suspect, if you're looking to sell, that you'd get a fair bit less than those figures?!?!?!
Ole will surprise us all by moving him into DM, ala Pep with Lahm, and then convert Dan James into a RB.
Has he been any worse than Shaw prior to this season?
Who is to say he can't go on and have a season like Shaw is now?

Combine AWB and TAA and you've got one of the best full backs of all time.

Spot on.
The fact is, That he not even in the top 5 of English RB. Should sent alarms bells ringing. But somehow good enough for United. I really like Kyle Walker-Peters to replace him.
ive got mixed feelings about ABW.
one on one defensively i genuinely struggle to think of many in world football better than he is, we have seen that time and time again.
positionally he isnt great and he isnt great going forward.
someone mentioned his stamina, but even that isnt great, he often seems like he is blowing out of his @rse at times.
one of my biggest issues is the fact he gives the ball away so many times with simple passes.
if we were better off financially i'd be inclined to bring another RB in, but keep AWB because at times he would come in useful

Maybe so but AWB is still only 23. He might be able to add everything to his game but he can still improve. Rose was seen as having no future for us at a similar age and became the best left back in the country under Poch.
