Thanks for the update. You ok to attend the AGM as well this year?

Maybe they’re waiting to see if Rangers will survive the next few weeks?

Guess he was released early from his contract.

A contract by the way is a legal binding agreement. To be fair to you; the majority of bears won’t know that.

And another sharticle about Celtic from Stevie.

Brilliant stuff.

I can see why you’re confused, after all, his reasons for not being able to join us earlier is down to his contract.

I realise these things don’t mean much to some clubs...

So a rolling one year contract that perhaps ended on the year point

Got to laugh at Celtic fans talking about contracts

Trying to tell me that if you were leaving one job to go to another, and it was evident you were needed sooner rather than later, you'd fck about?

Don't think so

I just did. It involved negotiation with my employer for early release

Seems sensible enough in any profession or role?

I think we can all leave this to the jury now as the case is well and truly rested in that bears simply do not understand what a contract is.

Not much of a shock really.

However; for future reference; no matter how much you and/or your new employer want you to start early, it can only be agreed with the current employer.

I’ve done both from both sides. I’ve agreed an early release and I’ve been put on garden leave to see out my full contract.

I’ve also let employees go early and anything from there and then to a short handover period. I’ve also enforced garden leave by up to 6 months. All depends on the perceived threat and who the new employer will be.

That’s how contracts work

Let's phrase this another way then

Given the size of the rebuild job needed, which was known before it was announced that Lawwell was leaving and Lennon jacked it.....the fact the new guy wasn't coming into until July was ok for you lot?

Really??

Nae bother

Still not getting it are you St3vie. Despite us putting in all this effort.

Ok. For the last time and in real simplicity.

We not our flub could have any influence on when he started as he was under contract to the SRU.

With their agreement they permitted an early release from his legally binding contract. I’d imagine because between now and his agreed downsizing date there was nothing he could work on that his replacement wouldn’t want to take control of.

If the SRU kept him to his contract, the earliest he could have started with us would have been July. Not a single thing we or our club could have done about it regardless of how we felt.

There. Clear enough now?
