Bayern were the better team IMO. It was a gutsy, bodies on the line effort from PSG. I’ve never seen them work this hard in a match before . Poch is definitely having an impact

Think we will see the best of PSG in his second season.

As much as I have fond memories of his tenure, he is gone lads. Life goes on. Once Maureen has gone, perhaps we can start enjoying our games again.

It is sickening that we are stuck with Mourinho while poch excels elsewhere. Levy’s unexplained hard on for Jose has completely facked us.

Sacking poch will go down as one the worst footballing decisions. He will go on to win bucket loads of trophies at top clubs, while Spurs will be famous as the club that sacked him after getting them to CL final

I wouldn’t say he was excelling as such, they probably won’t win the league and there’s a long way to go in the CL, but he’s deffo got them working harder as a unit and you’ll slowly see them turn into a team in his image. It’s still early days, but I really hope he has some success there, he deserves it.

Fair enough. Excellent result tonight though.

I reckon PSG will win the league. I think their collective experience will get them over the line - just.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Bayern win the tie either.

But either way, Poch will pick up trophies and go on to have a long and successful career.

And I certainly won’t begrudge him it

----------------------------------------------------------------------

It shows the measure of Sandys lack of character and class as a man that not only was he the one calling most for Poch’s head (on here), but that he’s also actively willing him to be unsuccessful just to validate his miserable self. The guy is one of the most self absorbed liars and hypocrites going, not to mention one of the most clueless punters I’ve ever known - you’d think in 60 years of following Spurs he’d have learnt something about the game but he understands Jack Sheite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't mind Sandy but his delusion is epic and the worst thing is he can't accept when it's wrong, he just forces himself to carry on his warped logic in the hope he eventually still gets proved right.

They are only 3 points off the top of the league with a better goal difference. I would still say they are favourites to win it.

I can certainly see why people think that. I'm not easily offended and can take a lot so I guess at worst I just consider Sandy a kind of amusing clown.

poch wasn't backed when it counted. when it was time to take the next step you went 2 or 3 windows without spending a penny. when levy finally backed poch it was too late. signing mourinho was a desperate act of a desperate fool. mismanagement by levy has limited a pretty good spurs teams progression.
being in 5th place is not a bad thing but i bet bielsa would have you 2nd and playing much more enjoyable football.

posted on 7/4/21

Not sure about Bielsa getting us to 2nd but it'd be fun to watch

posted on 7/4/21

Ah yes, Bielsa, the man famed for being accepting of lack of support from the men above.

He’d have quit before the season started if he managed Spurs. Bloke is a bigger man child than Mourinho.

Absolutely.

Biggest mistake this club has ever made.

Yup, if Spurs played like PSG tonight, our fans would have been up in arms. They were embarrassing. How they won that game is anybody's guess. They were completely battered from minute one. Luckier win than when Spurs beat Ajax. That sort of luck only lasts so long, as Spurs sadly found out.

Doubt it. Set up on the counter against the best team in Europe and carry out the task effectively, with quick breaks playing to people’s strengths, while giving your all defensively? No issue with that.

Big difference to camping on the edge of your area against Newcastle, struggling to retain the ball, slow lethargic passing and no apparent game plan.

Surely you can see the difference?

Genius, had Bayern had their main striker up front, they would have won by several goals. It was such a one sided game. PSG had a two or three breakaways, and were battered for the whole game. They got lucky. As I said luck only lasts so long. In reality they were outplayed and outfought all over the pitch. I doubt they will get lucky in the 2nd leg, even if it is on their home ground.
