Not a lot in it. She ticks the agenda boxes and that's the only thing the big companies care about

No need for it at all

It's a mans game

We should do a deal, all women cast for the ladies football, no men involvement at all, and on the other side , all men on the men’s game.
That’s fair .

i believe the accepted way to mock this is to refer to "elf n safety", but you should check with barry on that

She’s just a woman full of cliches. “Leeds will tire” “lots of clubs looking at Raphinha”

Wasn't watching BT today, but always enjoyed Lucy Ward whenever I've had her on co-comms before.

She k ows her stuff, but the tone of a woman over male sports just lessens the immersion for me

Me too. Would have much preferred her to Jim Beglin.

She’s good

Its the modern Britain we live in. You can't make a film, TV series, commentate on football without thinking about quotas or having a balance. Ffs can we just go back to a time when it didn't matter and delivering a good experience or film/tv show mattered.

i don't rate most commentators so who cares.

Nothing to do with her been a woman.

The amount of guff commentators on telly who are male is more than enough proof of that.

10/30 years ago you had one or two games on at the weekend.

Now every game is on telly and as a result you have to have commentators on for every game.

And most of them are awful

Breath of fresh air...

Don’t get the issue. Literally makes no difference to my watching of the game that she is a woman. If she is a bad commentator I don’t care enough to notice but it’s hardly like there’s also not bad male commentators, so again, don’t get the issue.

I honestly think one of the problems (and its a good problem to have) is that actually our club is pretty great when it comes to who we have on commentators.

The lutv lot are all good Dorigo in particular is great on co-commentating duties

Bbc leeds have a great matchday team and have for years now

When we are on telly we usually get Beckford on their too.

Then you see what idiots like lescot and ferdinand bleet on about.

Lucy Ward ex-Leeds player, could it be those complaining are objecting to her on the basis that she's not up the @rse of the established order. Given her Leeds connection, I thought she managed to stay impartial but some wouldn't see it that way.

posted on 10/4/21

They could have had any ex man city or leeds player as co commentator, like how Liverpool have plenty and Man U also. Id rather here insight from a player who's played at the top level.

Much preferred Thom and Eddie, don't really like Law, Parker or Dorigo but to each their own.

Parker is alright for the pre and post match studio stuff, however they did good when they bought dorigo in as parker wasn't as hot on full commentating duties.

Was it Lucy? Normally she’s good. Poor today. Especially over that tackle.

She’s terrible, but so are a lot of men too. People are getting jobs because they tick a box at the minute.
