I'd say the same for him tbh. He's physically imposing and very good defensively which is his main job but I think he's a bit limited/safe in possession.
We really could do with a midfielder who offers a sizeable upgrade on the ball to McTominay and Fred.

Do we think Garner has the tenacity long term?
He has a lot of the necessary attributes needed to play a holding role or a more dynamic midfield role if asked. He reads the game well defensively, he's not afraid to get stuck in, he's of a decent standard technically and he's got more variety and range to his passing than both of Scott and Fred, plus he can contribute in attack when he gets forward, it's just whether he's able to transfer all of that to the level we're at.
He'd probably benefit from another loan next season but if we're stuck with the same midfield options I'd be so tempted to bring him back.

I've seen bits of his games at Forrest and he's looks more physical than I had realised and I was impressed with how he was competing with grown men. But I've only seen highlights, so was interested to know. It'd be fantastic if he can develop into that Carrick role for us.

He doesn’t have a great deal of upper body strength, but what he misses there he makes up for in commitment and bravery.
He’s very much like Brandon in that respect.
If he can add a few kilos of bulk over the next couple of seasons, that’ll really help him.

It's certainly up there.
It was a very good second half and it'd be harsh to really fault a single player.
There'd be far fewer complaints and less criticism of this team and the management if we played like that more often.
Anyway, today has definitely been a good day.
