He was a privileged 99 year old queen's consort not a fooking Martyr ffs.

My main gripe is the Media coverage and the way it has been presented is way over the top.

If you like watching that sort thing all day then fine, bask in it and stick it on BBC News.

Bit like a royal wedding, if you want to watch it fine, spend 10 hrs of your life watching it, but dont put it on every licence fee channel some of us don't give a fook.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You seem to give an awful lot of a “fook”

Anyway. Off out now. Shops and pubs you see. Open here. 😎

On balance - I would say I'm a Royalist.

I would qualify that by by saying that the Royal Family is far to big and they rightly are looking at reducing the number of those who have titles.

I also don't really bother with watching Royal Weddings/Funerals, etc but do watch the news when they are representing the UK abroad.

I like the fact that we have a head of state who does their best to represent our country in a proper manner.

A head of state who makes effort to move with the times.

A head of state who devotes their entire working life to the service of the country.

The Royal Family cost each UK taxpayer about £2.50 last year.

On balance that isn't a ridiculous amount of money per person, and hopefully they could reduce it further by reducing the size of the family.

Since the Queen has been head of state the below have been the UK's Prime Ministers and Scotland's First Ministers:

Boris Johnson (Incumbent) 2019 – present
Theresa May 2016 – 2019
David Cameron 2010 – 2016
Gordon Brown 2007 – 2010
Tony Blair 1997 – 2007
John Major 1990 – 1997
Margaret Thatcher 1979 – 1990
James Callaghan 1976 – 1979
Harold Wilson 1974 – 1976
Edward Heath 1970 – 1974
Harold Wilson 1964 – 1970
Alec Douglas-Home 1963 – 1964
Harold Macmillan 1957 – 1963
Anthony Eden 1955 – 1957
Winston Churchill 1951 – 1955

Donald Dewar
Henry McLeish
Jack McConnell
Alex Salmond
Nicola Sturgeon

From the above I'm more than happy we have had the Queen as Head of State than more than two thirds of the above for a couple of quid a year.

Jesus had twelve.

I dislike the concept of royalty generally but I do have a lot of time for Melons Windsor and the lassie that plays Big Suze.
Both of them would receive it in the botty.

Population of the UK as of 2021=68,562,151.

68562151 x £2.50

Aye its no much, especially as her rent on they castles and palaces is murder
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Calculated by tax payer - 30.3 million.

£2.50 is not a lot for me

I also never mentioned the benefit to the economy which the Royal Family generates through tourism.

Which is several times the Sovereign Grant.

I’d like my £2.50 back.
I could go to Greggs with it.

Anyone who thinks the head of state should be un-elected, given the position because of who their maw or dad were and has to be a protestant in 2021 is aff their heid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Apart from the protestant thing - I must be off my head or have a 'bit missing' according to some.

As for elected heads of state versus un-elected please see the list above.

Well they were cousins so royal blood must be in their somewhere. Not as closely related as liz and Phil mind.

30.3 million tax payers are cousins?

Have you actually tried asking her out? Spend your whole lives telling everyone how much you love her and you would be together if she wasn't in a long term relationship and now she's single you're too scared to even ask her out. Pathetic.
