The elderly, pregnant women, women on their period, the sick and youngsters are exempt.
If you've got a cold or need to take medicine you can skip those particular days and do them again after Ramadan.... or feed another person for everyday missed.

A couple of years ago it was over 30 degrees in the school for a couple of days during Ramadan and the teachers gave the kids water if they were distressed.

Others thought it was quite reasonable because all the kids were under 11..

Some parents are quite unreasonable. Fasting is not compulsory on children. Although it is recommended to get them into the habit of fasting. I tell my kids to keep half fasts. So they'll have breakfast and an early lunch, then Refrain from snacking etc until sunset.

The parents of the kids I mentioned probably come from 20+ different countries and follow different forms of Islam. I imagine that's why that's why they were even arguing with each other at the school gates.
I don’t know what’s more shocking, that parents wouldn’t allow kids water during a heatwave or that Boris is allowed anywhere near schools....
Management really needs to show some leadership here. None of you guys seem to be on the same page regarding the rules. I'll see if I can get a Teams call set up to clarify the rules. If you give me a name of who is in charge.

I played football in 30 degree heat while fasting a few times and weirdly enough I wasn't tired and felt more energetic....

What’s the rational behind music? Is it just incase you hear the fast food song by accident, or I love Chinese food by Alison gold (look it up if you haven’t heard it, it’s unbelievably awful)

If someone needs an inhaler that has particles that will enter the stomach the fast is void and if they can’t fast without it they are treated like a sick person or an old person who can’t fast. So they instead can feed one poor person a day instead and not fast.
