And 4 assists. Gonna be a hell of a player when he’s older.

Definitely one to build a team around.

“Jesse Lingard is going to be some player," Ferguson told Manchester Evening News in 2012. "He is 19, came through our youth system and is built like Jean Tigana was for France. But he never got into the limelight there until he was about 34, and I think that will be the same with Lingard.”

I am happy for the lad and hope he can keep his form up, but he was rightly criticised for his performances at United (even if he was often played out of position).

To put his recent scoring exploits into perspective, he has a total of 26 PL goals in his career (142 appearances). This means that 31% of his PL goals have come in just 6.5% of his PL appearances. Crazy.

Its too soon. Leave him in the U18s for now until he matures a little.

What is his position though? That was part of the problem. When he was played wide, everyone said he wasn't really a winger; when he played in a sort of no. 10 position at times early last season, he looked lost.

I’m glad he’s doing well but I’d be surprised if he keeps this standard up.

He had a similar hot streak in Jose’s 2nd season.

We should sell now while his stock is high.

Hopefully West Ham get into Europe and they can work out a deal for him. He doesn't deserve our fans. He loves the club and went through a torid 2 years with his mum's health, yet all most of the fans and pundits could do was to abuse him. Here's hoping he has a great Euros and amazing second half to his pro career.

This.

He was treated poorly by some and couldn’t stand all that nonsense that he wasn’t fully committed because he has a clothing line and likes to dance.

The position West Ham play him in seems to work for him.

Yes. Which makes it all the more annoying that, for whatever reason, we couldn't get a tune out of him consistently in any position.

Jose did.

Some players need a run of games to find their form. He wouldn't get that at United.

United need to convince West Ham to part with the best part of 30 million for him as soon as possible whilst he is doing well there.

I reckon that Jesse will want to return to United and fight for a place next season after the Euros ( the only reason he went to West Ham was to get in the England squad). Which will mean we would be lumbered with him again paying his daft wages. He really isn't good enough to play for United every week.

Ole gave him a run of over a year.

At best he gives Marcus and Bruno a rest every few matches as needed, always in a different position. He should be sold ASAP while on form. Jesse deserves a chance and it won't be here. Heartbreaking for him, but the only fair deal for all parties. I just don't think he returns to us and gets a regular run at the same position. Same with Donny - unfair for both players and they need to move on.

Ole gave him a run of games and he was terrible.
There is a famous clip of Ole shouting at Jesse vs City from the touchline at Maine Road warning him that if he kept giving the ball away he was coming off. We didn't see much of Jesse after that.
