Face facts

We must face the facts Jose will not get billions to blow on players to execute is negative brand of football.
We need a manager who can coach the players we have add 2 or 3 new players of his choice and get more from them than we are currently getting.
So unfortunately this means Jose has to go I wish him well and hope he gets a job where he can get another big pay out.

Jose WAS one of the best managers. His record at recent clubs suggest he's not as good anymore. Sackings at United and Chelsea, numerous trophyless seasons, decreasing win percentages, more dressing room fall outs. Yes the squad could be improved but it's not the worst by any means. Certainly not so bad it should be going out to Zagreb in Europe after a 3-0 lead.

Ancelotti's strength is more in Europe and cup competitions. In the league he's never been the best at his clubs.

Jose has to go I agree. I just don’t think these managers suddenly forget how to manage, Jose hasn’t told the players to drop 20 points from winning positions, they are mentally weak apart from a few notable exceptions

Part of the Job is motivating his players.
Clearly he is unable to do so.

I think they're both still very capable managers in the right conditions. The kind of conditions they're not getting at clubs like Spurs and Everton. It was always a mismatch with us and Jose.

We all know how it works if the team doesn't get results the manager pays the price with his job but I wonder if anybody could motivate our group of gutless cowards.

A new manager is all very well but without alot of comings and goings this summer next season will be no better.

Remember in 2014 when it was all doom and gloom? We had sacked a useless Portuguese cant and endured Tim Sherwood falling out with half the squad.

We then hired a top class up and coming manager and within a couple of seasons were challenging for the title.

Our squad now is better than that 2014 squad. Get Naggelsmann in and things can turn around quickly.

Jose and Ancelotti are 2 of the best managers the game has ever seen, but the Spurs and Everton squads just aren’t good enough.
===================

Trying to find comfort in numbers, OP?

Everton are punching above their weight and actually not doing badly, whereas Spurs are pathetic tbh

We've had worse squads in the last 12 years, and are on course for our lowest finish for 12 years in the league.

Yes, of course blame has to be apportioned to the players. Often they haven’t been good enough.

BUT, if you look at our best run under Poch it was the second half of the 16/17 season when we accumulated the most points of any team, scored most, conceded least and went unbeaten at home. Poch did this with Trippier mostly at RB due to Walker making noises about wanting to leave and and Davies at LB for the full run due to Rose getting a knee injury just after Xmas.

If you are a good enough coach you have tactical systems, an ethos and a coaching regime that A) mitigates the weaknesses in your team and B) gets more out of a team than the sum of its parts.

Jose has, and I repeat like a facking parrot, done an ABYSMAL job, absolutely terrible. You only need watch the team to see a collection of unmotivated, unfit, badly organised, poorly coached players. They are not drilled, there are no patterns of forward play, there is no shape or discipline.

The gulf between his reputation and £15m a year salary compared to the standard of football coaching and management that has been delivered is humongous. He is a facking joker, should’ve been sacked months ago, should absolutely be sacked tomorrow and I don’t give a fack that we’ve got a final next Sunday.
————————

Excellent point regarding Trippier/Davies. He also done this Wimmer who has literally done nothing since. Chadli another example.

Top managers get 110% from every player, every week. Not the myriad of varying levels of input on display atm.

Levy and ENiC are more to blame for this mess than Jose

Dembele was'nt always the player he was.
It was only under Poch we saw the Dembele we remember.

He shouldn’t be here next weekend, nevermind next season. Should’ve been sacked at HT vs Chelsea. Levy needs to have made this decision already, and needs to grow a facking pair of bollox big enough to take responsibility for his own disgraceful decision making by putting things right ASAP.

This mess is on his head. I said the week Jose was appointed very explicitly that this was a huge decision by Levy to sack Poch and replace him with Jose, not something to be brushed off and that he had to be accountable and fall on his sword should all the misgivings come to fruition.

Sure enough they have, and I stand by what I said. I’ve been a big supporter of Levy but that decision and it’s consequences and done him for me. He needs to step down, he has done as much as he can for the club in terms of growing the infrastructure and the commercial side of things. We need to move forward as a FOOTBALL club and he isn’t capable of making the right decisions to make this happen. There has to be a change at the club at the highest level, Levy has to has to be held to account for his poor decision making.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I want him out before the cup final. At the moment I'm apathetic about the cup but I'm worried I might actually start wanting us to lose. You just know if we were to somehow fluke it, Jose would be playing the "I won Spurs their first cup in over 10 years therefore I'm a success" card. It would be insufferable.

It's good to see people are more on Levy's back than ever. I was criticising that bald fack 10 years ago. This decision of bringing Jose in is the kind of thoughtless thing he would do, just as a whole year of no spending was. The guy gets overrated for being this shrewd businessman, and while that side is good, he's made an awful lot of dumb football decisions.

I think most Spurs right now would be happy just to see some fast paced progressive attacking football.

That's the one thing made me sway against Jose. Like I said, I am more a club fan, and not manager fan.

But from after the Liverpool game, I noticed that our players don't look like they had any coaching done, any tactics passed on and don't look like DRILLED.

When you looked at Spurs under Poch in that 2015-17 period, each player knew their role, each player knew what position/tactic of the team was, and they looked like they were coached to the 100th degree.

This team looks like a mess, and players are trying to produce a result but don't have that coaching to know what system or even what role each should play?

Look at Reggie. He goes forward, runs like towards the front players, then suddenly he is looking back? This was a guy who constantly went forward and took on the fullbacks.

I could be wrong of course, but at least, I am not the only person to think this club looks far from being coached.
