Nothing to stop it Chronic. This has not just been planned on a whim. I suspect it is well advanced now, and pretty well unstoppable. Funding would all be in place.

When you see UEFA's new format for 2024 you can see why the ESL teams have done what they have done.

They want to make it more inclusive which usually means there will be alot more meaningless games but at least the wealth will be distributed more. The last point being a good thing obvs.

As the bloke in SSN said this am. Football is heading for civil war. The biggest question now is how will the prem league react?

Do they let the big clubs have their cake and eat it or do they impose sanctions.

Sadly the american w@nkers have imposed their mentality on everyone else within the 12 clubs. I fecking hate them.

This is Levy`s wet dream, guaranteed massive income and no real need to spend to compete to qualify. Levy would be happy just taking part every season, Spurs would finish bottom every season and still trouser massive revenues and subsequent profits, it`s what Levy fantasizes over.

This isn't his brain child. Both real and barca are in massive debt. The american owners of Utd and Pool along with Perez have planned this out. I have a feeling they offered it to Levy and instead of saying feck you it was an opportunity to good to turn down.

The loss of income from Covid and the huge debt of the stadium has forced his hand. ENIC have and never will inject money into the playing squad but will happily invest in infracture as they know it will only add value to their investment.

You have to wonder if Dulux knew about this last week? Levy has not panicked over the naming rights of the stadium either. Our global exposure will increase as we are now more closely associated with Utd and Real who have the biggest global presence.

If Levy was hoping for £25m a year from the naming rights deal he may well be looking at a higher figure now?

Had he not signed us up we would be left behind in terms on finance.

10 years ago we would of been laughed at but now we’re part of a big move in football, we’ve come a long way in terms of club stature.

The stadium naming rights is a good point why it’s been taking so long, with this super league he can demand a bigger fee

I think it’s something that started out as what it has always been, a pipe dream. But I think it’s clear that the clubs have been discussing this and researching this for at least a year. Combined with the financial backing/‘insight’ of the prospective income + their disagreement over the new CL and I think it shows it isn’t neccessarily a fully empty threat.

I’m sure the clubs see it as a win win. They either get the CL they want or they create the ESL and get the financial incentive they’re licking their lips at

Yeah it’s the big boys essentially holding UEFA to ransom. They know the vast majority of tv revenue is thanks to the huge fanbases of these clubs
