Sandy, as quite a senior Spurs fan, you’ve seen the history and what’s a stake here, you surely can’t be serious in supporting a non-competitive US style franchise competition?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I often get shouted down on here when I go on about Spurs history, but I am a realist, and Spurs would be in a huge financial mess caused by the Pandemic, and with the stadium debt to be serviced. No time for silly sentiments about the past, when the whole club could be at stake, without additional funding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bangs on about the good old times, how Spurs were the first to do this that and the other, how football was around before the Prem league, how trophies are all that matters, how he supported Spurs when they were relegated..... then rips up the form book, dismisses history, goes for the money.

Like a fecking see saw
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a realist fella. Do you seriously think the financially doped clubs are going to hang around for the likes of Spurs. You either join them or in all probability go under. Some seriously dopey Spurs fans on this forum.

As I've said in previous articles I'm against any league that has no relegation but I wonder how much money Chelsea and City have cost Spurs by denying us CL footie (most famously 2012).

The Prem League, Sky, fans and mp's didn't say a word when they got their iffy oil money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So many hypocrites Pawl. Spurs are just doing what they have to do. Either join up or get left way behind. Only the stupid would not choose to join the elite.

Well its time for ENIC to sell out.
But not the way they seem to have decided to try and sell out..... to this super league.
Frankly I d not see why it would be that "super".
And is JP Morgan going to provide the funding?
Will PSG and Bayern join?

Nothing about this deal is done as yet.

It's been a great week. Spurs have joined the mega rich cartel now. Can play the boys midweek now, as CL is guaranteed for the next 20 years. Best thing for years that happened to Spurs.

I could literally write your posts before you think of your wum based on current goings on around the world and subsequent reaction on here to said news

Yes as usual Sandy has judged the general feeling and gone the opposite way to deliberately wind people up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet, somehow, against all odds... People STILL actually do get wound up by him!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it’s just the amount of space he takes up, and his ability to de rail articles and the board in general.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not as stupid as most on here. All season lots have been banging on about getting rid of the manager, so Spurs can go up a level. Then when they get CL football handed to them on a plate, they start grizzling about it not going fair. Our fanbase are hilariously dopey at times.

Oh yes...and where are the new young star players going to come from?
Remember, the NBA relies on the USA College system to provide it with new players by means of a ranked draft system.

Daniel Levy and José Mourinho disagreed over #thfc summer transfer plans. Daniel Levy wanted Harry Winks and Dele back in the first-team but José Mourinho wanted the pair sold. [The Telegraph]

Levy is a bigger caaaant than most of us thought if he rates these two average players.

I guarantee you there will be people on this board who won’t want us to join the ESL, yet they will demand Levy spends £100m in the summer without selling Kane despite us being in the financial shiiiiit

How many clubs went under with the creation of the PL?

How many clubs went under with the creation of the UCL?

The remaining 14, who will be cash strapped and open to the highest bidder. Also the rest of Europe who are not in the 20 - much like it is already

Well Spurs don’t need to compete anymore so why does it matter if you spend money or if Kane leaves?

I’d rather Spurs fell on their backside, dropped down three divisions and never saw the light of day for 20 years then go to the ESL - at least they’ll be failing by merit.

A closed league is rotten to the core

100 per cent correct. This is a lifeline to Spurs, and some are to stupid to see it. No manager, probably no European football as it stands, huge debt. And our supporters are still waffling on about integrity. Meanwhile clubs like City and Chelsea go further and further away.

Like the league isn't already closed. Leicester had one season in the CL, other than that, the same few clubs have been in the CL for the whole of the 21st century.

But it’s not. And that’s a fact.

And closing it completely is not the answer.

Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Forrest, Leeds - all massive clubs who have been relegated. This can’t happen in the ESL

Ridiculous comment.

What a surprise to see the usual suspects in support of this with their opinions that nobody else seems to agree with.

And what would be the difference between 2nd and 17th in the PL?

Literally none. If you can’t win the league it doesn’t matter - Spurs have already qualified for the ESL.

There would be so many dead rubber games in the PL

Well if that is true then the "remaining fourteen" will be worth watching play, perhaps even more worthwhile, because THAT will be where the new talent to keep the Super closed league going, is coming from!

Well that is an argument to change the way the current Premiership is run, the money system etc.
