Would be my team assuming Kane is fit and Reg is out.
A lot of things I didn’t agree with Jose on but one thing I did was that Bale is basically a luxury player and if you put him in front of a full back against a good side you’ll get exposed over and over. A team can carry one luxury player if he’s good enough to influence the game, and given how hard Lucas, Kane and Son work for the team we could give Bale a roaming role among that attacking quartet where he can create chances and shoot from distance but with less defensive responsibility.
Got a feeling Mason will bring Dele back in though.

It’s a final Ace. We got no hope with our defence playing a defensive game, so just go for it mate. Gareth bale might be a luxury player, but he’s a player who could be that difference to scoring a winner in a cup final. He’s been mismanaged terribly by Jose this season. Look at him when he did start playing ?

4411 back to basics. City will have more possession. We have to protect the defence. We are still weak at the back.
Can't expect Mason to work miracles in a week and turn us into an attacking team just like that. The old double pivot leaves us exposed on the counter time and time again.
If Kane not fit then Lamela or Bale starts. Lucas and GLC can swap sides.
Can't expect Bale or Dele to start without being match fit in a final. Even if they play on Wed can they play 2 games in such a short space of time?
I would play the above team on Wed too with Bale or Lamela instead of Kane if not fit.
Pack the midfield, try to keep the ball and hope for the best. Good luck Ryan Mason.

That’s my point I have seen us play with Mourinho’s boring defensive tactics bringing on Sissoko to try and shut up shop, yet we still get battered, so how the hell do you work out Gareth bale starting will immediately mean we concede more goals ? You go into a final in a one off game taking the game to City, not trying to defend it with a s** awful defensive unit that awful regardless of formation. Gareth Bale starts Sunday for me and I believe Ryan Mason will give him that opportunity
By the way I’m not saying just go gun ho. All I’m saying is Gareth bale should start in a final. If it means dropping Lucas slightly deeper so he can do the dirty work then so be it. Bale starts in a final, it’s as simple as that. If we want to stand a chance of winning it.
Chelsea took it to city in that fa cup game. Now I agree chelsea are 10x better coached than we are and defensively sound, but my point is, Tuchel played some attacking players in Werner, Ziyech etc. He didn’t defend all game. Put the fear into city ffs.
