Chelsea, Man City being financially doped, West Ham being given a ground at the cost of the tax payer.....

Did you kick off at those?

posted on 20/4/21

It’s no more cheating than Man City and Chelsea being bank rolled to Success, West Ham being given a stadium, Wolves using an agent to get top Portuguese talent for a pittance whilst in the Championship and so on.

The whole game is crooked, always has been

Small potatoes.

We came very close to Newcastle being bank rolled to success last summer as well, making it even more uneven.

Everton suddenly have loads of cash.

Why weren’t people kicking off when these things were going on?

Not entirely sure what your saying here. If you’ve ever paid for sky sports then you have contributed to the inevitability of the super league.

Huge difference, in that the plan is to establish this as the 'norm".

It’s already the norm, why is it okay for a couple of teams who were medium sized clubs before their takeovers to suddenly win the lottery and oust clubs that were growing sustainably and earning their way up the pyramid.

Yet now those 6 will be somewhat levelled, everyone else is annoyed

Spurs, owned by a tax exile, haven't won the league for 60 years.

Striketeam7 and Smeg

If the can't see any difference between a club getting investment and/or a new owner, with this plan to make the rich continuously richer and destroy meaningful competition you are either being deliberately obtuse or are rather stupid.

Yes exactly. It’s all corrupt. This is it just coming to a head.

I see you have an American sports team as someone you support on your profile. Says it all

I posted this in another thread. Think it's valid for this one. It totally is cheating and way beyond any team buying victory. The closed shop mentality completely removes competition. Even if, as currently stands, some teams can wildly outspend others, there's still a chance within the rules for the smaller club with less money to beat the bigger clubs. The ESL removes that dream. David can no longer beat Goliath.

Here's what I wrote...

I find it weird that the consensus of some spurs fans is "thank god we're in it". In what? The misconception is that we'll be making loads of money, buying top players and dominating along with the others. Dominating what exactly? The PL, FA Cup and League Cup will just be cast aside as second rate competitions and the only one with any credibility will be the ESL, which we'll be bottom of the pile on.

This has absolutely no upside for me. The only positive I can see is that 6 greedy owners in our league will be richer. It's just lining pockets. Simple as that. There is literally no upside at all.

This has to stop. It's almost criminal. I made comparisons earlier in another post about the fact that change is always inevitable, the leap from the first division to the Premier League has been a huge success. The one common thing that both of those share though is competition. Promotion. Relegation. A chance for others to join, the risk of those in it to drop out. That's what the integrity of competition is all about. We love the CL because we rarely get in it. It's a reward for the journey you've been on in the previous season. You'll soon get bored of Spurs v Barcelona if we've not done the hard yards to get there. It'll become like any other fixture. The great fallacy here is that it's being pitched as the ultimate Champions League. It's precisely because we don't face these sides on a regular basis that brings the attention to the fan base. I guarantee you, 3-4 years down the line, the thought of facing Barcelona will bring the same level of excitement as a trip to Sheffield United on a cold Monday night. Novelty will vanish.

This is not about making football better. It's not even about making those clubs better. It's about owners grabbing all the money. That's the bottom line.

If this gets off the ground, football is dead.

Soon as the owners get sick of months of abuse and their respective business interests bombarded they will have to revise their plans.

These owners don't recognise prestige and fair competition they recognise profit. If fans stands a collective and boycott them then their profits will tumble.

I'm hoping their leadership becomes so uncomfortable they are forced to sell 51% to fans, simply to try and save face.

If 4chan is capable of destroying terrorists and companies reputations in no time at all I dread to think what millions of annoyed fans can do.

Nobody did a thing when Chelsea and City got their iffy oil money.

Most seasons 2 CL places go these imposters meaning other clubs have missed out on hundreds of millions of pounds.

Where is/was the outrage from mp's, Sky/Bt, other clubs and supporters when these 2 midtable clubs are cheating mine out of millions?

I don't agree with any league with no relegation but football lost its soul years ago.

Joe Lewis doesn’t pump money into the club like the sheikh and Roman. City went from Div 1 to winning the Prem in no time through little hard work of their own.

Chelsea were on their knees financially before Roman stepped in and then hoovered up all the talent.

No condemnation from fans, but now they have a problem when we may have a more level playing field

It is important to differentiate between ‘clubs’ and ‘owners’.

Otherwise all you’ll achieve with your (seemingly limitless allocation of) articles is to stir up tribalism, and division, which will play right into the SL’s hands.

Why do folk keep saying that Spurs haven't won the title in 60 years?

The organisers don't care what they do care about is that we have the best football stadium in the world and 80 mil Asian supporters.

It would have been crazy not to involve us.

Pawl

The alleged 80 mil supporters is apparently down to Song, if a single player is the main reason for your inclusion you should start to worry.

For example, as an Arsenal supporter, I’m vehemently against KSE being handed £350m as a quick fix for their past decade of neglectful ownership.

Folks are wums

They probably asked Spurs because we have a decent amount of fans internationally and knows our owners are desperate for money
