A senior vascular surgeon saves lives and earns 300k a year for example.
Works his butt off, does insane hours.

Pro footballer plays a 90 minute game, runs 9k in 1.5 hours.
Does a bit of training here and there and relaxes with the rest of their time, while earning obscene amounts of money.
Phil Jones, one of the biggest waste of space players we've ever had, earns about 3.5 million a year and has done for about a decade?

The money in football is really really stupid.

The fact that you can be a sicknote and still pick up full pay for the entire time is just ridiculous.

Normal people get what 14 days sickness before they stop getting paid. Plus normal people earn peanuts compared to these jokers.

What kunttttttts designed these contracts for football players?
Just sheer stupidity.

You forgot to add that the surgeon is saving lives.

It’s a daft comparison.

But if it’s one that people want to make it should highlight that those people are massively underpaid.

It’s fantastic that footballers earn what they do. It’s one of the few industries where the people that are responsible for the industry being what it is, are getting their fair share of the profits (you can still make a case that they aren’t, when you see the money taken out of the game by people that do so little for it).
