"2 lapses of concentration"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree:
1. Appointing Cocu
2 Replacing him with Wazza
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’re obsessed with change. No need for a 50” screen if the programmes aren’t worth watching.
It's not Rooney's fault we are in this position. Look at other clubs who have changed their manager after a dodgy start. Darren Moore isn't a bad manager but he has not really improved Wednesday, Sam Allardyce hasn't done much for West Brom. If you haven't the players then you can't expect to be challenging at the opposite end of the table. The fact that we are not dead and buried already is thanks to the little good spell under Rooney. Many of our players are still learning the game and are league 1 standard if that.
Norwich and Burnley didn't sack their managers when their teams were relegated. Unless something is obviously amiss like we had with Pearson then we should aim for some form of stability. I feel certain that Rooney wont be poached like Lampard was.
I just hope he thinks Lg1 is beneath him.
Got to agree Spart.
There are many - on the phone in, social media, Twatter - who say "get rid of Rooney" but offer no viable alternative. We do need stability and getting rid will just mean we start again with a new manager bounce, have to bring in new players, adapt to a new system which will take time and all the angst that will go with losing.
Rooney 'ain't everyone's favourite by a long chalk but who is?
Who would you bring in? Sorry, we need stability and if that means League 1, so be it. I'd rather have League 1 than not existing which is the doomsday scenario.
We are skint, we lack players, we now lack viable ownership. It's a horrible position but there are no quick fixes.
How do you organize a team that doesn't have quality?
Look what Bielsa did with a team that had Bamford as their target man.
Roo has tinkered and tinkered. We are caught just staring at the ball. You can coach a team to read the play. To keep shape. To know what to do when they get the ball. To scan, to know triggers, to switch play.
The basics aren't being taught and we're regressing. We might not have quality but you can organize, inform players of their jobs and make decent subs at decent times . This isn't being done. Rooney has to take responsibility for that. He's not getting the best out of this side. Even if it has limitations. We look like rabbits in the headlights. Whereas from what I've seen n heard the other 3 are giving it their all.
I think Roo inherited a mess but he's making it messier in my mind. With guidance I think he could be decent, I'd like it to work out but he looks lost like Wassall was before Harry came along.
Rooney could do worse that get match fit again if we go down. At least he'd provide some quality.
Had he done that at the start of the season it would have been helpful.
If we do manage to stay up, I'd like Udders to go down.
Scouse, we are all but safe, God knows how, we've been appauling all season...
Do you rate your manager Terrier??
Anyone think that Forest will lie down for Wednesday to try and get us relegated? Will make the final game interesting if they do.
I don't think players feel the same way as fans about local rivalry. I doubt they would choose to throw the game, more likely they won't have much motivation or that Hughton might choose to blood some youngsters. There were conspiracy theorists saying that Steve Gibson would instruct his players to throw their games but Boro have done us a couple of favours.
I can't see us getting another point if I'm honest, unless Rooney has an about-turn and throws caution to the wind with an attacking line-up. So we need Wednesday and Rotherham to maintain their poor form.
This season has a similar feel to the one where we went down under John Gregory. After an improvement beating Tottenham, drawing with Utd and thrashing Leicester and Bolton away we then couldn't buy a point for the rest of the season.
Feel Swans need to win today so that Derby have a chance against them next week (with their playoff position sealed) . Swansea are currently losing.
The number of teams to have to support this season hoping they get the right result to benefit Derby is crazy.
12 Swans a reading. It's Xmas.

And yet, so far, they've pretty much all helped our cause. Let's hope Forest do next week.
Reading equalised in the 93rd minute.
Swansea have rubber stamped their position and hopefully are not too fussed who they play and can relax playing Derby.
That is what I'm relying on to get a result next week.
In a way it might not help us. Swansea going for it would give us more space on the counter. Like Vidals says though it's immaterial until our players are taught how to play a game of football again.
I was hoping for fire and brimstone like the Hull away playoff game. Not much technique but desire and urgency. I still feel like there's been effort just a bit clueless.
Cant see em relaxing. Theyd prefer to take the momentum of a big win into the playoffs
Hope my mention of the 'm' word doesnt start Spart off
Straw grasping 2W. We just have to play our best and hope it's good enough.
Three games ago bookies were taking bets on Derby not winning another game all season. It doesn't look like a bad bet. There is also a spoof tweet that Forest are resting players and inviting fans to play against Sheff Wednesday.
Ang as we know from the Hull semifinal momentum in football is a myth. Chasing this mythical momentum led to us losing our best defensive midfielder in the last 10 years.
